The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past The Christmas Party (part 1)

1000 replies

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 03/12/2010 16:22

Hello.

Welcome to The Brave Babes Bus. I'm Mouseface and I used to abuse alcohol and to be honest, there is always a risk that I'll do it again.

This is a bus journey for those who drink too much, or drink now and then, not at all, or actually aren't quite sure what their drinking means to them.

Come and meet the other Brave Babes, everyone is welcome. Xmas Smile

What's Hollister??

I have no idea but I do know that £30 for a fecking t-shirt would be met with a big fat feck off from me!!

For £30, I'd want a t-shirt, pants and matching boots!! Or for you to weave said t-shirt from spun platinum!

I've been 'Hollistered' as well -DD has always been happy with primark until recently - the only thing I like about that shop is the smell (that's the new thing don't you know - signature smell for a shop!!)

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 13/12/2010 19:39

£30 for a t-shirt is just madness. Maybe when I was young with no mortgage, children, bills etc, I would have thought it great to be able to justify £30 on a sleeveless top.

I once bought a FCUK t-shirt. It was £15. I thought that was a lot for a top with hardly any fabric.

So I am getting old too!!!

£30 if half my weekly shop!!

Ah, well see, that's where you are wrong. M&S has always had a 'smell' as has Boots away from the fragrance counters. I doubt it's deliberate like today's retailers.

It's the air con. Or filtered air if you like.

I love the smell of M&S. Something homely about that smell for me.

I won £250 of vouchers for there on MN. Still not spent it all. I must get my arse in gear and start going out more.

I just fear the great unwashed!!!! Xmas Shock Xmas Grin

Well done Silver for going. Can you do 90 meetings in 90 days, wrt work/DP/DC? Do you think it would help?

I found the meetings wonderful. I have really struggled and at times lapsed doing it alone this last 2.5 weeks but will be back at AA tomorrow night. The people are kind and understanding. What is not to like - the stigma maybe - but the stigma of losing my job and my DD would be far greater.

Silverbaubleonatree · 13/12/2010 20:07

Xmas Grin at Hollister conversation - fortunately my DD has zero interest in clothes (for now).

noteven I plan to try and do 90 meetings in 90 days or as close as I can to that. My whole focus for the next three months and beyond will be AA. I plan to go to a meeting on Christmas Day as well.

I am bathed in PJs and FUCKING SOBER.
Xmas Grin xx

Silver - it sounds like you have had an amazing day.

I managed to get past wine o'clock so plain sailing now....I am feeling particularly pleased as I had a really difficult and draining day at work and had more or less convinced myself that it would be OK to have a drink tonight - knowing of course that a drink=a bottle.

mouse I had forgotten about the M and S smell - I don't think I have noticed the Boots one - I'll have to investigate!

jesusthisstableiscrowded · 13/12/2010 20:41

Xmas Wink, but bugger me, i have been truly ripped off by claires accesories for a pile of shit with 'hello kitty' on stampted on it!! Xmas Angry its for a little girl i buy for and i dont begruge the money, i just hate being ripped off!, it makes me feel 'fangy'!! Xmas Grin, i love the way that word looks!!, i may just keep on using it all year!!Xmas Grin
