All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you would love to attend Pip's wedding with Natasha and the starry twins, or other unusual views.

If NotJoe's grandfathers are Bill and Will, he could be called Liam after both of them. Liam Gordon sounds okay.

I'm fascinated by the business of naming a baby. Relatives are expecting their first child in the spring. They already know the sex of the baby and have announced the name. I was surprised by both these things, but it's none of my business, of course.

I did once know a woman who decided on a name for her newborn son but then changed her name after it had been widely spread about (but presumably before his birth was registered). It caused a certain amount of confusion, but I expect everybody got over it. Eddie was remarkably laid back about the possibility of another name being given to Grundy Jr. Good for him.

There's a shaggy dog story that regularly does the rounds on MN about just that situation.
Except it's embellished by the couple going round to see one of the grandmothers to tell her the new name, only for gran to preempt matters by proudly showing her new tattoo of the baby's, now discarded, name.
The twist would be that Amber's mother would get the inking.

Arf! I remember my mother had the hots for James Bellamy. I pointed out that he was perhaps a little young for her (she was old enough to be his mother, though I didn't actually say so) and she was very cross!

Fed up with the baby talk and of course only Eddie would try and make money out of his great grandson. Ed and Emma laughing about his get rich quick ideas are just as bad.
I do admire Lynda when she got told off by Brian she just took it on the chin.
I think her idea to ask to rent land and then say you must supply the deer fencing and water, is a bit bonkers. By the time you pay the rent etc how much money could you make?, how many people would use it when they are used to walking their dogs for free?.

I’m guessing it will be Edward and Bear for short.
