Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

Archers All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd love to be Brian's child or stepchild, or other unusual views. Grin

Archers Spoilers: not on this thread, please! We don't wait for the omnibus to discuss the weeknight episodes, but we do try our best to avoid cross-contamination from https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4636789-the-archers-spoilers-thread-7-cant-wait-for-702pm-join-us-here, where spoilers are positively welcomed!

Archers For newer listeners, lurkers or those who just have no idea what we're talking about, @DadDadDad has created this useful thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/3557323-For-Archers-fans-a-guide-to-acronyms-on-the-long-running-discussion-threads-and-any-other-meta-thread-questions-you-may-have - BOOP point for him! (See thread for explanation.)

Over to you!

Thank you….

BeatriceBatchelor · 20/06/2026 09:57

I do love your titles! Thanks Gasp

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 20/06/2026 10:03

Thread 200!

George doesn’t like the idea of any reconciliation between Amber and her parents does he? I thought that scene was well scripted.

TottersBlankly · 20/06/2026 10:08

200 threads?! Whoop! 🎉

Thanks a million times, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g!

Let’s hope Kirsty’s story stays in the calm corner of the 75th anniversary turbulence.

Ambridge · 20/06/2026 10:56

Thanks for the new thread, Gasp

Brefugee · 20/06/2026 12:23

Thanks Gasp, great title!

Darker · 20/06/2026 17:30

Amber and George both perceive threat from her parents, but see it differently. George understandably believes Amber could be persuaded to leave in favour of a more comfortable life funded by Mum and Dad, and he’ll then be fighting to be part of the child’s life forever. Amber wants approval for her choices…. But she knows she can go home if she wants.

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/06/2026 17:48

Thanks to Gasp0de and all, as always.

ExitPursuedByABare · 20/06/2026 19:05

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

That last thread seemed to fill up vair quickly despite not much having happened.

echt · 20/06/2026 23:35

Thank you for the new thread, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g .

Nothing to add TA-wise.

Self-centredly just I'm so glad it's the winter solstice today here in Melbourne. The shortest day is fabulously sunny but a bit taters.

JanFebAndOnwards · 21/06/2026 09:25

Taters, @echt?

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

muddyford · 21/06/2026 09:48

Taters is chilly or cold. My Buckinghamshire grandmother used to say it.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/06/2026 10:17

Well, it's certainly not taters here. I rather hope the SWs have written in some reference to the weather for next week as it would be very funny if Ambridge is battling pouring rain while the rest of us are sweltering in the second heatwave of the summer.

Oh my - a warning for listeners before the omnibus! (‘Graphic descriptions’ of the wreckage David and Pip discover.)

I don’t remember that ever happening before.

TottersBlankly · 21/06/2026 12:02

So … erm, Denise doesn’t seem to have been at Jim’s surprise leaving party. And she wasn’t mentioned when Jolene asked Alistair if he missed his dad.

Someone’s wiped her - and Paul - from the entire story, haven’t they?

muddyford · 21/06/2026 12:23

Good.

Mumblechum0 · 21/06/2026 13:02

I so hope Kirsty has a healthy baby

ExitPursuedByABare · 21/06/2026 13:08

I’m confident she will. We need more joy in the world not misery.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/06/2026 14:11

Lower case joy, yes.

OP posts:
muddyford · 21/06/2026 15:52

It's giving me the black horrors, all these mentions of the J-word.

TottersBlankly · 21/06/2026 19:16

Keira sounds too much like Mia!

But Amside exists!! That should be interesting going forward.

Dissolution - finally the word is uttered.

JanFebAndOnwards · 21/06/2026 19:55

Yes that was a big catch up for Keira (Speaking)!

I don’t (much) mind it being born healthy, but it would be very disappointing if it stayed that way.

Arf! You are a bad, bad person. Will you be my friend?
