Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

Archers All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to marry Pip, or other unusual views. Grin

Archers Spoilers: not on this thread, please! We don't wait for the omnibus to discuss the weeknight episodes, but we do try our best to avoid cross-contamination from https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4636789-the-archers-spoilers-thread-7-cant-wait-for-702pm-join-us-here, where spoilers are positively welcomed!

Archers For newer listeners, lurkers or those who just have no idea what we're talking about, @DadDadDad has created this useful thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/3557323-For-Archers-fans-a-guide-to-acronyms-on-the-long-running-discussion-threads-and-any-other-meta-thread-questions-you-may-have - BOOP point for him! (See thread for explanation.)

So now we know who bonked George on the head. Will the stunning revelation Hmm lead to anything interesting or credible happening? Answers on a postcard, please!

Will Alice and Rex become an item? Will Amber come to her senses? Has Adam's constant languor and fatigue now removed his ability to speak on air?

Over to you!

I would hand deliver a card to anyone local because stamps are so expensive. Otherwise I would just WhatsApp them.

But I imagine you just post it through the letterbox rather than giving it in person to someone at the address to engineer an exchange.

Yes. I'd shove it through the
letterbox and run.

There are stickers for caravans and motorhomes that say 'if the van is rocking, don't come knocking'. Perhaps Rex needs one for his boat!

Brefugee · 02/03/2026 14:40

i thought the Rex/Adam/Alice convo was quite sweetn. Normally i loathe 2 of the 3 of them so there's at turn up.

Am currently reading a set of essays by a German woman who lives on a narrowboat on in London. They are 2.5 metres wide. That seems... narrow.

AnotherHormonalWoman · 02/03/2026 14:46

Yes, I found myself thinking the same, Brefugee. In spite of myself!

FatRosie · 01/03/2026 14:44

Is the Realise that I am a very shallow person but relevant?

I'm a very deep and thoughtful person. Can we please keep Finlay/Bonner even if he only appears sporadically.
Better still, can he be the 'heir to Brian'.
Smile

What does Bonner mean please?

Because I read it as boner

Mark Bonnar.

FatRosie · 02/03/2026 15:03

@AnotherHormonalWoman , I cut and pasted a pp's post hence the typo. The Finlay character is acted by Mark Bonnar. Mark Bonnar - IMDb
The link will probably explain why we are keen on hearing him. Smile

Bruisername · 02/03/2026 15:06

Don’t shoot me but the first few times I saw mark bonnar on tv he was playing absolute creeps and, as he clearly is very good at his job, he now makes my skin crawl!

FatRosie · 02/03/2026 15:09

I'm fine with that @Bruisername . I am now thinking he could be the 'heir to Rob'.

Bruisername · 02/03/2026 15:12

Wouldn’t that be something

if Helen has an unplanned pregnancy I may need to write to feedback

AnotherHormonalWoman · 02/03/2026 15:21

Thanks fatrosie!

EBearhug · 02/03/2026 15:25

They are 2.5 metres wide. That seems... narrow.

It's about 8 feet. About the same width as my kitchen, which is not dissimilar to many Victorian/Edwardian terraces built for railway workers and the like, as this one was.

Raera · 02/03/2026 15:42

I'm voting croquet!

Agapornis · 02/03/2026 15:56

Adam & Ian love a gossip. How long before it gets back to Susan? I estimate under 48 hours. Maybe a Friday cliffhanger (of sorts).

JudyCoolibar · 02/03/2026 15:59

Maybe the mystery sport is bowls. That'll generate lots of excitement.

Same.

I've got a ghastly feeling that's what will happen, it'll be another ridiculous story about a woman who thought she was too old to get pregnant, didn't use contraception, thought her lack of periods was the menopause, then finds out she's 6 months pregnant.

Bruisername · 02/03/2026 16:18

Yes I felt the conversation about Tom being in a different stage etc etc was foretelling a really shitty sl

OrphanBlankly · 02/03/2026 16:35

But a little Finlen would be gorgeous! It would mean Mr Bonnar would have to keep appearing intermittently (maybe like Toby) either by phone,or in the village, or whenever Helen should take the child to visit him in the Highland.

Utterly splendid prospect. Can’t recall if Finlay said he had children, or if Finlen might inherit all he owns?

There have been sex scenes in the Archers for decades. The recent ones are nothing compared to enduring Sid and Jolene in the shower..

I heard Sid and Jolene in the shower. It had about as much to do with sex as a rugby player's dirty socks do. They talked about shower gel, for goodness' sake.

OrphanBlankly · 02/03/2026 19:17

So that’s why they’re shoving Miranda into Home Farm House. To destroy Ruairi with shame.

muddyford · 02/03/2026 19:47

Why on earth is lovely Brian going to shack up with that ghastly woman? She sounds as if her neck is being stretched. One only hope, I suppose.

I missed what it was that Brian didn’t want disclosed.

They haven’t done death in childbirth yet, and it’s reasonably topical…

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/03/2026 20:14

That Ruairi clonked George on the head with a bottle, I assume.

It does happen, though. This thread was started within the last few days. www.mumsnet.com/talk/thirty_days_only/5497393-shock-pregnancy-im-as-old-as-the-hills-ffs?reply=150828131
