All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you think George Grundy isn't a psychopath, or other unusual views.

Spoilers: not on this thread, please! Hello new thread! (I've posted frequently but just changed my name) Is Den going to get an invitation to the wedding, then make an interruption at the " just cause or impediment " bit by claiming Tracey is still legally his wife? Or will he just be a drunken presence, enough to spoil the day? Poor Tracey.

I'd have thought that Ed and Den might have crossed paths at some point.

It's just going to be a "hilarious" situation where it takes a few weeks for the penny to drop that Jazzer has randomly become mates with Brad and Chelsea's Dad. After several deep and meaningful conversations between them about how Den feels he failed as a father and Jazzer confiding about the challenges of being a step dad.

Thought: now we have a “half sister” we can have a DNA test and it will turn out that Adam isn’t related to her after all, and there’s a more mysterious father.

(the alternative is that Adam meets his sister and becomes attracted to her as has happened before, that’s far too grim for the archers)

Hello hello! Been away for a while as I’ve not really been listening. Not sure why, just y’know life and all that shizz.

The truth is I’ve started working in a shared office instead of home as I had done for 23 years and while I love it, one of the casualties has been the Archers at 2pm. I’m rarely home by 7pm so, i fell into disuse.

anyway, I’ve made a pact with myself to get back into the saddle and listen on my walk to work each morning and here I am. Can I get a BOOP point for that? 😉

Hello, BOOP! Many BOOP points to you for returning. Main thing you may have missed is that Jennifer died in January. The Aldridges are still coming to terms with this, understandably. Peggy is still alive but silent. Shula is ministering to the heathen in the North East of England. Ruairi had a sugar mummy but that's all fallen apart. Adam is trying to trace his Dad. Ian is running a mobile pizza van. Grey Gables is still shut for refurbishment. The Dopeys sold a field to a man who said he wanted land for ponies but his company is now building a recharging station there for electric vehicles. Jim is bitterly opposed and trying to campaign against it. Justin is involved in the company. Mia thinks it's all great because it's green. Ben is working in a care home while on a break from his nursing course. Jazzer and Tracy are getting married soon. Rob Titchener is back in the UK for his mother's funeral and may (or may not) put in an appearance in Ambridge. The mere thought of it has sent the Bridge Farm Archers into conniptions (again, understandably). George Grundy is busily demonstrating why, in Jazzer's words, he is a 'jail sentence waiting to happen'.

Have I missed anything?

And we've never been given any indication that Adam is bisexual, have we?

...so beginning these threads which have now run for over 143,800 posts. (Yes, I've kept a spreadsheet). So we are just a few days away from marking the 10th anniversary!

Odd that it took Erin until the end of the conversation to tell Adam their father was dead. You’d have thought she would have opened with that information especially as it was so recent. It was almost dropped in casually “oh he died two weeks ago, you’ve just missed him there. How sad”

Adam has been orphaned in the space of a couple of months. He sounds pretty chipper all things considered and his voice less tired than usual.

Is Adam really not going to suggest a DNA test or seek some way of checking Erin’s story? He seems very trusting when it comes to his new sister found online…Shouldn’t Ian demonstrate some level of due diligence before he allows this stranger into the family home?
