All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to donate your time as a guide at Lower Loxley to save the Pargetters paying someone else a living wage, or other unusual views.

Thanks to @Impostersyndrome for the thread title suggestion Buses and trains are sorely lacking, canals might be nearby, but all roads lead to Ambridge, picking up on transport discussions in the last thread. In the end I didn't use it, having in mind the character limit. @TottersBlankly contributed an early draft title Wreathes, wrath, writhing (Jennifer, Lilian, Ruairi). Both good starting points for the new thread, which I hope will last till Jennifer's funeral, surely not too far off now. So, over to you - whither the Aldridges? Also, does anyone care if Lee goes to the US? Is anyone even slightly interested in the Brookfield B&B venture?

Although I should have said - I assume Kate hadn’t relinquished her British citizenship before Noluthando was born. (IIRC Kate and Lucas didn’t marry until after Noluthando was born? So what her citizenship status was at that time is irrelevant.)

Yes, that was my first thought.

Lilian is the character I can picture most easily in my mind. 5’0, massive bust, tiny waist, a mass of dyed brown bouffy hair, always zipping about on kitten heels, never leaves the house without lipstick. The diminutive stature doesn’t work with manhandling large horses, but I just can’t picture her any other way.

De-lurking as I can't contain myself - surely Soosan is going to be overheard gossiping over the new intercom?

How typical of Helen to assume that Susan and Clarrie would love the window and just bulldoze through without consulting them.

I see Helen as being rather plain with a straight dark brown bob, very slim, brown eyes. Lilian I reckon is mid height with short bouffant dyed reddy brown hair, smokers wrinkles and a tan/dark foundation.

Ruth is about 5 4 ish and has curly dark brown hair which is greying. No make up, average build. Pip is similar height and build but straight shoulder length highlighted hair.

Can't exactly picture Susan I can't remember her being a looker.

ruth and pip as hands on farmers will have either very short hair, possibly short bob or very long hair in a ponytail, trimmed with the 'mumnet method'

I felt sorry for Lily. She has finally shaken off the ghastly Russ, can at last have a bit of normal student life in a shared house only to have the prospect of the idiot Freddie following her.

Freddie has an estate and a job on a plate - he needs to live in to learn the job, not live some kind of parody of student life. I also don't see why after all this time the room suddenly needs a third "by Friday".

If I were Lily I'd tell Josh its me or him and if Josh chose Freddie then I'd find somewhere else. Then let Freddie find Josh a third and do his share of the housework.

I agree. I think we know that Adam and Ruairi are red headed. Adam's father was deduced from the child's copper hair, I believe.

Shorter, with short hair, no curls. Slim and toned from the manual work.

Pip is similar height and build but straight shoulder length highlighted hair.
Taller (5'6"ish) and just past shoulder length light brown hair, no highlights.
Slim.

Noluthando will stay and there will be a cancel culture SL.

I reckon they're all made out of ticky-tacky and they all look just the same.

I actually think Ruth is the 1 who does look like the actor - but ruth wouldn't pay for the highlights and so her hair is mostly grey now

No snow here, but I think many of us have lost the will to live. So Noluthando has set the cat among the pigeons and is now blaming Freddie for doing not-racism all wrong. As for the letter from Paddy, and Adam's response, words fail me. This is probably a good thing.

Ooh I need to catch up not listened to tonight it is quite dreary at the moment though.

Re-inventing history. I liked the idea of Susan helping Adam sort out clothes.
