Do we think the Mysteries replace the usual fun storylines around giving things up for Lent? Light relief while we wait to see if the SWs go for realism and tragedy when Alice’s baby is born, or bottle out (as it were) and go for everything being fine? Will Jazzer and Tracy get back together again? (No bookie in the land would take money for that, of course they will.)

oh god i'd blanked jimbo out. yes you heard correctly (or you heard what I heard, which is not always the same thing ha). it's definitely not had a comeback as far as I can tell, I think that's what had me cringing, all jade's dialogue sounded like one of the SWs trying and failing to do cool yoot speak. I wonder if the intern has got sick of being asked what young folk call xyz and has decided to start having a laugh. if we hear ben and ruairi's shagging wagon being referred to as rad or far out I expect we'll find out.

Funny how they knew about who would now be getting their covid jabs, back before Christmas when nobody including everyone in government had the slightest idea when that would be happening.

My next door neighbour is referred to as Jimbo occasionally by his wife. They are quite young, well younger than me anyway.

So Gavin will get banged up and Philip won't? If Philip refuses to plead guilty, it's his word against Gavin's that Philip was involved at all? Is that how these things really work? But it was Philip's business. Philip chased work, gave quotes. Philip was Blake's 'uncle' at the hospital. Philip was Gavin's boss. Philip employed the workers. Didn't Philip also own the 'stable'? There's no way that Gavin can be guilty without Philip also being guilty. Not in the normal world, anyway. I can't vouch for the inside of SWs' heads.

I really don't understand what Kirsty was trying to prove. Hasn't she now tipped off Philip as to part of Gavin's testimony, thus giving Philip time to concoct a counter-argument.

He'd get a copy of Gavin's witness statements anyway, in fact he probably has already. I think it was possibly Kirsty and Philip being naive about how much evidence the prosecution has got against him.

I'm sure the sudden introduction of jabs and masks was a topical insert. But I'm left mystified as to whether they intend to catch up completely with lockdown and put the Mystery Plays on ice, or they're just going to leave TA in a world where Covid is bad enough to need those precautions but OK enough to allow for virtual abandonment of social mixing rules.

Also, I seem to have missed the references to jabs and masks, whilst wondering what on earth was going on with the Mysteries. I've found this reply to a question about how the scriptwriters aim to reflect lockdown restrictions or whether they've given up on that, from SW Keri Davies on Twitter: "It’s really tricky. We sort of hint at them but because they change over time we can’t guarantee to be exactly in sync." (Earlier in the same conversation, about how lockdown affected the scripts, Keri Davies also wrote: "Personally I think reality is overrated. I plan to live in my little dream world for as long as possible." I think may of us can empathize with that!)

Pasta snorting was gross. Would be interested to know exactly what Jim's Latin comment was.
