New posters welcome - with your fresh views and burning questions.

Old posters welcome - with your jaded views and knowledgeable answers.

But new posters feel free to be jaded, and old posters feel free to ask questions!

How is the Pip storyline going to play out and do you care?

As usual, if you want to mention the advertised storylines for future episodes, there's a separate thread for that - no spoilers here, please.

Just imagine we're all sitting round a table at The Bull --> Archers

Is Kathy Perks officially a silent character now? I can't remember the last time we heard from her.

thank God. I am a qualified teacher but I am going to work for minimum wage and complain all the time about how poor I am Kathy.

HatingTheBigShow · 24/01/2018 22:12

I know it's wrong when I must be Alice's age but, ooh, I did like Brian being all masterful!

I agree DarkandStormy. I think Toby needed help in seeing that he was perfectly entitled to be involved in his child's life and Kenton was the push he needed. I've found his reaction very believable -shock,denial,wanting it all to go away etc, then on reflection coming round to the idea.
David,on the other hand,was ridiculous.

I'm not sure I can go the whole 6 months left with Pip, God's gift to motherhood. She's seriously irritating. I hope Toby doesn't actually get back with her- he doesn't deserve that!

birdsdestiny · 25/01/2018 06:53

I am not sure how I feel about Kentons advice on fatherhood as I don't really know/understand his story. Why did Kenton stop seing his child?

Buxbaum · 25/01/2018 06:56

Ruth was pregnant this time four years ago. I was trying to remember if she got far enough into the pregnancy to have an early scan and if that was what she was thinking of.

Unless I’ve missed something (quite possible) they seem to have totally forgotten that SL. Surely it would have crossed Ruth’s mind that if she hadn’t miscarried there would only have been a four year gap between Pip’s child and its youngest aunt or uncle.

Thanks Francis, as I thought he should not be giving any advice on fatherhood.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 25/01/2018 07:38

Kenton knows that if Toby let's Pip push him out he'll regret it, as he regrets leaving Meriel. And we have no idea how much contact he has with daughter. Didn't he and Jolene visit her at the time of the Great Farm Sale?

The IBR was their fault for buying infected cattle.

I think Peggy’s going to get the flu and die within the month. Which is quite realistic for a 93 year old, sadly. I don’t get why the scriptwriters would be putting in the stuff about Neil being ill and Brine under the weather otherwise. Too many Chekovs guns hanging around for none of them to go off. And yes, I think there’s a slow burn story of Shula in the dark with the Rangerover. Not sure how she cleaned it up afterwards, however.

MikeUniformMike · 25/01/2018 15:09

I don't think Ruth had a scan when she was last pregnant.

Peartree17 · 25/01/2018 15:13

Have just listened to last night's episode. And why is Justin so agog about Brian and the EA? I liked Brian telling him to sod off - high time someone stood up to Justin. Does Brian still need Justin's business? I've lost track.

birdsdestiny · 25/01/2018 16:03

But Brian is being an idiot , what he has done is very serious, and even Justin thinks so.

(peers round the corner)
Hello you too (see what i did there)
Been off doing RL stuff hence not about but have been politely asked by the lovely folk at Academic Archers to remind you that it's taking place this year at the British Library on 17 Feb (I shan't link but you can find it on Facebook and EventBrite) and I'll be there enjoying the session on GOSSIP Grin
I am aghast at current events in Ambridge
And yet,
Still I listen.

DadDadDad · 25/01/2018 17:16

Hello, Olivia, lovely to hear from you. (Why is your post not bathed in blue - have MNHQ disowned you? Shock ).

So, are Academic Archers aware of these threads?! Picking up on your comments and the title of this thread, they should do a study of why people keep listening even when they find it all so unsatisfying.

I agree about Peggy. Her giving Noluthando the necklace seemed to me a signal that Peggy is ready to SOTMC. If she does, I hope June enjoys a long and happy retirement.

Gruach · 25/01/2018 19:13

The Egg Fairy!

R4 · 25/01/2018 19:23

Here we are in the middle of the awards season: the nominations for Worst Actor in Ambridge are Daisy Badger, Andrew Wincott and that piece of wood over there.

Blimey that was painful.

MikeUniformMike · 25/01/2018 19:24

I really like Adam. He's consistent.
