New posters welcome - with your fresh views and burning questions.

Old posters welcome - with your jaded views and knowledgeable answers.

But new posters feel free to be jaded, and old posters feel free to ask questions!

How is the Pip storyline going to play out and do you care?

As usual, if you want to mention the advertised storylines for future episodes, there's a separate thread for that - no spoilers here, please.

Just imagine we're all sitting round a table at The Bull --> Archers

I realised tonight how poor Adam's acting is - and, dare I say it, worse than Pip's.

echt · 25/01/2018 22:14

Very coarse signalling of the impending return to South Africa with the music in Noil's bedroom, like the deedly-dee Oirish music in "Titanic" every time the action went below decks. Hmm

I agree that the handing on of the necklace, coupled with Noli calling her a pet grandma name (can't reminder it) and lashings of goodbye sandwiches in this latest ep signals a possible offing of the character.

MikeUniformMike · 25/01/2018 22:24

Noli will be back.

Mootsie · 25/01/2018 23:22

Did anyone say goodbye to Kate? Grin

BuckingFrolicks2 · 25/01/2018 23:53

Oh my ears must be duff cos I like the Pip actor. But what do you think about Ian? I loathe Ian with a passion. He seems totally unrealistic as a character and is badly acted IMO. Interesting that Toby's dad was rhapsodising about a new Fairbrother. Wonder if that will cause ripples.

BashStreetKid · 26/01/2018 00:29

It's fascinating how the Borchester Fertility Clinic always manages to come up with the means to produce Archer pregnancies so quickly. Helen managed to get pregnant with Henry with amazing speed, and now Ian and Adam seem inexplicably to have jumped right to the head of the queue for donor eggs.

BashStreetKid · 26/01/2018 00:30

Why is Justin so keen to help Brine out? There has to be something in it for him and his businesses.

MikeUniformMike · 26/01/2018 00:34

I love Ian. He's cuddly and nice. He puts up with Adam and he's a chef.

echt · 26/01/2018 04:58

Did anyone say goodbye to Kate? :o

Quite. I'm agog to see how the SWs handle the management of Spiritual Home. Will it all be brought up to date at check-in?

catwoozle · 26/01/2018 05:31

I love Adam! He has such a lovely voice. Plus you never know when he might misbehave again, he only ever sounds like being nice is an act. Another herbal "lay" is surely around the corner.

I always imagine the actor playing Adam reading his lines standing with his legs apart and his chest out. In his mind he is playing Macbeth or Richard II at The Globe.

Minimammoth · 26/01/2018 08:25

I don’t like Ian much, to me he sounds whiny, and needy, and a bit pathetic. Don’t like Adam either, just not believable as a farmer,( more lounge lizard) how they intend managing a baby I’ve no idea, not a believable storyline IMO.
In fact I don’t like many of the characters, apart from Kirsty and Joe. The SW should spend some time on a real life farm for a bit.

birdsdestiny · 26/01/2018 08:36

I don't like Ian either. The surragacy storyline is still horrible.

LillianGish · 26/01/2018 09:12

A second visit from the egg fairy and no doubt the catastrophic effects of this chemical spill will be all over by Easter and never mentioned again. I do wish that if the SWs are intent on having huge, dramatic storylines (floods, pestilence (IBR), poisoning, attempted murder, new roads etc) they would actually have the staying power to see them through rather than wrap them all up in a couple of months never to be heard of again (the sink hole and disappearance of Stefan also spring to mind here). Personally I’d be much happier with the small dramas of village life - the difficulties of casting the panto, village show shenanigans, parish council elections, competitive birdwatching, the comedy, gossip, rivalry and bickering between well-known, well-loved characters (even the silent ones). I’m happy to have the surrogate baby and the Pip-spawn, but let’s see how they are brought up - not have them shunted off to Birmingham à la Bethany or locked in the cereal cupboard. These children will be the new blood of TA so let’s see how their characters develop rather than piling on over-dramatic plotlines that lead nowhere in the end.

Bekabeech · 26/01/2018 10:02

I just hope the "poisoning the Am" story goes on and on. It will tie neatly to the Home Farm Inheritance one, will Alice need to rely on Chris financially?
Surrogacy story is rubbish.
Freddie isn't going to stop dealing is he?

Mootsie · 26/01/2018 10:07

Living with Ian must be exhausting. When he's unhappy he's constantly whining and when he's upbeat he won't let go. Everyone has to share his enthusiasm.

I hope Lexi realises he's going to be in her face throughout the whole of her pregnancy. Is suffering severe morning sickness worse than death by macarons (or were they macaroons?)

It's going to be pretty crowded in Roy's cottage. Hmm

R4 · 26/01/2018 10:12

Freddie could go either way. He nearly killed a friend/relative so that might pull him up short. Alternatively, he has seen that the system doesn't seem interested in petty drug-taking/supplying so he can carry on in the unshakeable teenage belief that they are above all laws (man-made, celestial or otherwise).

BitOutOfPractice · 26/01/2018 10:29

It's going to be pretty crowded in Roy's cottage

No more crowded than when Roy lived there with Phoebe, Hayley and Abbey (sp?) surely

MrsArthurShappey · 26/01/2018 11:20

The arrogance of Brian really knows no bounds does it? And Jennifer is so PASSIVE Angry

ADarkandStormyKnight · 26/01/2018 11:28

The Fall of the House of Aldridge...

The Rise of the House of Fairbrother?

I'm enjoying Brian and Jenny being exposed as the smug, entitled people that they really are.

MrsArthurShappey · 26/01/2018 11:30

I'm enjoying Brian and Jenny being exposed as the smug, entitled people that they really are.

Me too!

R4 · 26/01/2018 11:52

I'm with Brian, actually. He is trying to give out as-positive-as-you-can PR but has acknowledged, to himself and JD, that this could cost Home Farm millions of pounds. He is making sure that he complies with the EA and is keeping them onside, whilst ensuring that his legal team has his back.
Meanwhile, Adam is behaving like a headless chicken in a hand-wringing panic. I so want Brian to bellow, "don't bring me problems, bring me solutions!"
