TA (The Archers) annoys me intensely but I still have to listen
I think there is a possibility that we obsess about TA in a way that most listeners don't

The panto is meant to be Sleeping Beauty, but are you expecting farce (Mother Goose Pip) or tragedy (Puss Cat in Wedding Dress Boots )?

No. But who cares anyway? It was bound to come out sooner or later.

This is just ridiculous. It is unbelievable that Pip's family would not have noticed that she had nothing to drink on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing day and that her mother would not have put 2 and 2 together and made 4.

IRL you just wouldn’t go out on such an alcohol-oriented night as NYE. Better to develop a bug and stay at home than constantly having to explain why you weren’t drinking.
Who overheard them do we think?

I'm not sure there's much point to Roy any more. Now that his family is scattered and there's not much mileage in parental spats over Phoebe - who could visit him anywhere. Perhaps he'll be the pre-Brexit emigration story? Completely agree Gruach - as with so many of your observations. So I actually would listen to you for entertainment

Abraid Lexi often talks about them. they're teenagers and obviously they sometimes don't want to (or aren't around) to talk to her, on Skype or wherever.

Making Alice an alcoholic would be a storyline. Making her an idiot isn't. I

Couldn't agree more ppeat - I don't think that's a misogynistic storyline, I think it's sadly very true to life and, looking at the Facebook posts of various young women I know of Alice's age, all too prevalent (not that they are necessarily alcoholics, but that heavy drinking is very much a thing among young British women). I think it would be an excellent subject to explore.

I don't think Roy is that nice a person. He was pretty awful to Haley during the Elizabeth saga. I'd be more than happy if he left us for Poland.

Pip's attraction is her extremely weak knicker elastic.

Alice used to be a good character but she's turned into an airhead or should that be pisshead.
Roy is the same age as Kate, I think, and Lexi would be about 36-38.

Crikey I am pretty concerned about my knicker elastic then , as far as I can remember pip has shagged 3 people that we know of. I am ahead of that figure why do people not treat me as utterly irresistible?

Yes true Lilian Has no one on here noticed that people say and do stupid things when they're pissed? Alice is being portrayed well; sometimes the drunk person finds that sober people are personally offensive!

Just because she is a career woman doesn't preclude her from being a piss head (for the moment).

Oh and I like the Roy and Lexie SL. Also the pantomime SL. Lynda has always been an odd mix of pretentiousness and compassion.

Jooood, Spencer, Matthew, Toe B, that I know of.
OK that's not many, but she was FWB with Toe B, twice.
One of the high spots of TA for me was Jooood's "Bye-ee!".

I liked the old Pip because she was ghastly but the new one isn't even that.

I hate Pip's voice. And she is an idiot. Alice spiking her drink was inexcusable but going on and on and about it until Alice twigged won't undo it.(Query would sticking her fingers down her throat to make herself sick have helped?)

I loathe pip, along with the rest of the world but her sex life is absolutely bog standard for a woman in her twenties. Unless it was just me all those years ago...

I can't work out whether Pip really has the SW seal of approval or not. Surely you couldn't really write such an objectionable character without realising what a cow she is? And some of them at least must be capable of reading opinions about her on social media.
