TA (The Archers) annoys me intensely but I still have to listen
I think there is a possibility that we obsess about TA in a way that most listeners don't

If this is you (genuine quotes from earlier threads), or you're new and want to ask anything about The Archers, then this is the right place.

PseudoBadger started it, but we're going to finish it (er, will TA ever finish?)

The panto is meant to be Sleeping Beauty, but are you expecting farce (Mother Goose Pip) or tragedy (Puss Cat in Wedding Dress Boots )?

At the end of the last thread we were remembering recent successful marriages in Ambridge. How long ago was Ed & Emma?

Any idea what Ed earns as a self-employed contractor? Presumably he's earning more than Emma, because if Emma was earning more I'm sure Ed would have moaned about it. Or is the problem that Ed earns a reasonable amount, but a lot goes on tractor stuff, feed for the Texels etc, so his profit is tiny.

I don’t actually get Edemma finances. If he’s working all hours god sends. Most freelancers ,( gardeners, cleaners etc) around here, S. Borsetshire, are getting £10 an hour minimum, should be more if it’s a man and a tractor. All hours could be 48. Plus Emma’s earnings. If he had no work, then I would get it.

So are we to assume that Justin and Lilian were speaking at cross purposes - that for him, 'move on' meant 'we get married' and she has understood it as 'we don't get married'?

He said they're both grown ups and it was time to move on ... There was a lot of 'hmm -ing'. Nothing was clear so I suspect they have misunderstood each other.

She is an aunt to various Archers. She was born Christine Archer, sister of Phil who is father of Shula, Kenton, David and Elizabeth, and sister also to Jack who was married to Peggy. Their offspring: lilian, Jennifer, tony. There were 2 Jacks, both married to Peggy. This one was the first and they ran the Bull. He‘s been dead a while. She then married Jack woolley as she liked the name so much. [smile ]
