Gah......Jill!

TheAntiBoop · 20/07/2017 09:41

What's happened to carol? Never though I would miss her but Jill needs reining in.

Although good on her for prioritising her own interests for once!!

SingingAvocado · 20/07/2017 09:47

Am I alone in being glad that Rex and Anisha finally got it together? The will they / won't they has been annoying and I think Pip deserves to be usurped! I don't mind Anisha either …

Jill knows that the only way her family might stop and listen to her is if the cake tin is empty!

muthabadger · 20/07/2017 09:47

In my mind, Aunty Cardboard sells Woodbine, becomes Matt's equestrian advisor and flies off to Costa Rica to eat mountains of dulce de leche cheesecake, while trolling Peggy sending her endless WhatsApp pictures of horses and cake.

Are you kidding? Rex told Anisha about an unsuccessful date, where he could have hopped into bed on a ONS but he was too much of a gentleman. You could see a lightbulb go on in her insanely competitive head where she had to get one over on (a) the unknown rival and (b) Rex's moral compass. She doesn't care for Rex, only for winning at any cost. She would sell her own grandmother.

ppeatfruit · 20/07/2017 10:12

Carol's roses were mentioned last night, I thought we haven't heard from her for a long time too Anti. I hope that Eleanor is alright.

mutha If Peggy and Christine are techies I would be very surprised!

R4 · 20/07/2017 10:12

What happened to the excess catering at Matt's do, btw. Did Jill actually do anything useful like gather it up and get it sent over to Happy Friends or did she just sit there tutting whilst stuffing her face with an expensive Grey Gables lunch?

ppeatfruit · 20/07/2017 10:54

R4 Great minds , I was thinking the same thing, the SW's or the editor missed a trick there.

Also does Jill 'pop' into the kitchen at GG and ask Ian what happens to the waste food there?

TeenAndTween · 20/07/2017 12:38

With the happy Sisters, I think they are going to agree that all their 'waste' can go to the new friends café, and everyone will be happy.

I also think Christine is going to invest proceeds of Woodbine cottage in Matt's racehorses, and lose all her money.

RolfNotRudolf · 20/07/2017 14:31

I'm enjoying Jill as eco warrior/poverty campaigner Smile
And happy for Anisha and Rex to fall into bed if it stops Rex wandering round like a dog on heat AND puts Pip's nose out of joint

ppeatfruit · 20/07/2017 16:53

If I were Rex I'd wonder why Anisha gave me "coffee" last night, because she wasn't exactly in heaven was she? Was she just influenced by Alice calling him 'fit'? So thinking that'd make sure he was her puppy dog?

BertrandRussell · 20/07/2017 18:45

It's a shit name for a restaurant, isn't it? And isn't there another one with a shit name too-La Belle Dame sans Merci, or La Jolie Laide or something......

JessieMcJessie · 20/07/2017 18:58

La Fin Du Monde.

oldfatandtired1 · 20/07/2017 19:26

Nancy Banks Smith back in The Guardian today, glorious as ever!

R4 · 20/07/2017 19:45

Good old NBS. I'm still trying to get my head round the analogy between Caroline and Bad King John! Did you know that BKJ is buried in Worcester Borchester cathedral.

ppeatfruit · 20/07/2017 20:15

At least Pip seems to honestly enjoy a bit of the other without playing games, like Anisha, especially at the beginning of her relationships.

As long as I don't have to hear anything about it.

The restaurant name is bloody stupid. It has 2 French words which are not particularly easy to say together (they could have made it worse and called Le Trompe L'oeil) as opposed to easy ones like La Belle Angele or Chez anybody or Maison anybody or Le Petit something.

Imbroglio · 20/07/2017 21:15

Next up. ... Roy and Lexie.

TheAntiBoop · 20/07/2017 21:21

I hate it when they try and do a 'will they won't they' but don't so poorly

echt · 20/07/2017 21:47

If there hadn't already been Caroline's death, I would have thought Jill might die on the barricades of protest against the £20 for tomato soup restaurant.

Fink · 20/07/2017 21:51

The restaurant name is bloody stupid

It has been really grating on me since they first said it. The really annoying thing about it for a French speaker is that they clearly intend the first vowel sound in sœurs to rhyme with the first vowel sound in heureuses, but it doesn't (if said properly). This is entirely believable for presumably English restaurateurs making up poncy French names to make their place sound posher, but it's still irksome.

Mootsie · 20/07/2017 22:58

A really well run restaurant shouldn't have any waste.

mummytime · 21/07/2017 08:31

I really liked that episode! A lot of good honest and open discussion about death and funerals. Those are discussions too many people fail to have and having them can really ease the pain when people do die. It's so much easier if you at least know what the person would have wanted, my FIL virtually arranged his own funeral and it did make things easier.

RubyRoseRing · 21/07/2017 13:53

My mum chose the music for her funeral. It was very helpful. We chose to repeat one piece the following year when dad died too. I did find Oliver a bit weird talking of holding Caroline on his knee, especially as they both were non-believers, l thought. But it was good having it all talked about, Oliver and Shula as well as Shula and Alan

Don't we all remember Peggy doing internet training in the Bull years

ago?Might have been in Sid's reign?

Hillfarmer · 21/07/2017 19:15

Can Clarrie please divorce Eddie now?
