And so it continues. We still have one long-term prediction from the start of the last thread that has not yet come to pass - the burning down of Lower Loxley.

But there is still time...

"I know many Archers listeners still miss Nigel Pargetter and it seemed fitting that in my last ever episode of The Archers as director and editor, I could offer Graham an appearance in the programme - without him actually turning up in the shower like Bobby Ewing in Dallas."

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/09/2016 00:34

He's still Editor next week though, just not directing, according to the Cast List on the BBC site.

Guess we'll be seeing his name listed for a while:

"TA Artistic Advisor" in October.

"Dramaturg" in November.

"Literary Consultant" in December"

"TV Liason Executive" in January

"Extra-special BBC Cross-platform Director" in February ...

Vango · 10/09/2016 10:26

All seems to indicate that Helen is home, gets the boys, R tries to see them ((Tony stands guard), Usha sends R an eviction letter.... Hopefully!

Gruach · 10/09/2016 10:45

I do like the sound of the monster begging favours.

Vango · 10/09/2016 11:01

Me too. Who's going to help him? Maybe he'll latch on to 'unhappily married' Shula. "I saved your life"!!! 😁

KingscoteStaff · 10/09/2016 11:05

Would Ed'n'Emma be able to afford BHC if Usha gave Rob notice?

Dailymailisacrapnewspaper · 10/09/2016 11:11

Would Ed'n'Emma be able to afford BHC if Usha gave Rob notice?

Of course because in the real world they would be eligible for WTC and housing benefit. They have been eligible for this all along, they could have stayed put in the 1st place with no need to ever move in with relatives.

TheAntiBoop · 10/09/2016 11:19

I think it depends how many bedrooms BHC has when it comes to letting it out again...

Gruach · 10/09/2016 11:24

No, because it's exactly the type of des res that's driving young adult country dwellers out. Can't recall if it's thatched (may well be) but it's in a prime location and on its last sale was in the price range to be bought by a solicitor (who may also have had family money to call on). Can't remember if it coincided ever with Roy and Hayley looking for somewhere to buy - but they couldn't afford any of the chocolate box cottages in the village.

So unless Emma is now earning the equivalent of a professional salary it would be unrealistic to let them have it. And also (when it shrinks back to its normal two bedroom size) a bit small for a family of four (and possibly growing).

TheAntiBoop · 10/09/2016 11:25

What about the big estate that David had to visit to try and get his farm back? Surely there are affordable houses there?

Gruach · 10/09/2016 11:29

Weren't those desirable dwellings for Borchester executives?

KingscoteStaff · 10/09/2016 12:38

There's estates and estates, doncherknow.

JudyCoolibar · 10/09/2016 12:47

I'm hoping Rob's letter is from Justin, withdrawing the job offer.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/09/2016 13:04

One letter from Justin withdrawing the job offer on grounds of moral turpitude.

One letter from Usha giving him notice to quite BHC. She wouldn't need to give a reason, would she?

Mootsie · 10/09/2016 15:36

Was the Flower and Produce show the reason Rob was making that crown with Henry or have I forgotten another recent occasion?

I wish Helen would get just a teeny weeny mention. It's all about Rob again Angry

Vango · 10/09/2016 15:51

I suspect there's very little mention of Helen to avoid giving anything away. I'm certain she'll feature heavily once she's released (on Sunday/Monday).

enochroot · 10/09/2016 15:59

Does "Tony keep still, and Pat is full of questions" feature in the hour-long celeb fest?

JudyCoolibar · 10/09/2016 16:14

Presumably we get to hear from P&T in case people start wondering if they've tuned in to the wrong programme. I fear I'm finding most of what Pat does irritating at the moment, but it did annoy me when she was hysterically demanding that Tony answer loads of questions about the trial adjournment yesterday when he can't possibly have known the answers. I have a nasty feeling we're going to get loads of "Tony, Tony, what if they convict?", "How long will the jury take?", "What if they can't decide, I can't face a retrial?", "Can Helen appeal", "Would she win any appeal?", "How can Helen bear to be in prison", "If she's convicted, will we lose the custody case?", etc etc. All interspersed with "It's all my fault, I feel so guilty."

ibrowze · 10/09/2016 17:22

I suspect there's very little mention of Helen to avoid giving anything away. I'm certain she'll feature heavily once she's released (on Sunday/Monday).

But would it give anything away? She could still be in cast list if back in prison surely?

IggyPopsicle · 10/09/2016 17:25

I really hope Ed n' Emmur get a place of their own before Christmas. They deserve a break.

I can't stand to hear anymore from Joe Grundy. The way he deliberately ruined Caroline & Oliver's house to prevent the sale was purely selfish. If I was Caroline I'd have booted them all out on the spot.

Ruhrpott · 10/09/2016 17:28

Why hasn't Rob been arrested for the rapes?

Stickerrocks · 10/09/2016 17:32

Graham Seed has just announced on PM that there will be a twist tomorrow. He was also told off for sounding too much like Nigel when his character was quite different.

Ruhrpott Helen could be lying in court, so why waste time & effort arresting him?

Stickerrocks · 10/09/2016 17:36

Pat and Tony will be screeching away as the jury announce their verdict.

Louiza has given an interview to the Guardian in which she says her husband can't look her in the eye at the moment. She only found out the verdict herself at the recording last Saturday. He is an Archers fan and is afraid he might work out the result before it is broadcast. She has some TV work for ITV in the pipeline, but says she couldn't bear to give up Helen (or words to that effect).
