So many possibilities.... A visit from the Titcheners Snr? Baby of the wrong gender? A ruined wedding? Re-housed Grundys? RuthRex?

Flowers Gruach The Bataclan is two minutes from my flat. Worrying about what SOC is doing to Ambridge is a welcome diversion.

toldmywrath · 15/11/2015 17:06

Should have read through page 4 & then I could have name checked GruntledOne whose words I have echoed unwittingly. (as it were)

Thank you for the new thread Pseudo sorry for your troubles.

Gruach · 15/11/2015 17:55

I don't know what to say LilG ...

LillianGish · 15/11/2015 18:09

Just incredibly touched that you thought of me Flowers

PseudoBadger · 15/11/2015 18:15

How awful for you Lillian, I had no idea Flowers

Bloody hell Lilian - I had no idea. I hope you're bearing up okay.

Yes I know that Ruth has put her work into the farm but I meant that she was quite happy to piggyback on David's inheritance. You're right though Gruach, I should just ohmmm and rise above the implausibility of it all :o

Mintyy · 15/11/2015 18:33

But it's the implausibility of it all that makes us shout fuck off at our radios! And we do sort of love it for that.

I used to quite like Ruth but am going off her at a rate of knots ... obviously as I'm supposed to.

Lilipot15 · 15/11/2015 19:41

I'm a longtime lurker but am always several episodes behind, presently some weeks behind! Ended up listening to the omnibus today whilst driving baby for a nap - it came to that! - so thought I'd jump and say hello. Many long drives ahead of me in next few weeks so I shall catch up.
Pseudo, Wine and Flowers for you.
And Lillian I do hope the Archers can be a good mindless diversion for you from this time in Paris.

Gruach · 15/11/2015 19:57

I have now EBear. But surely the Archers reference would be more pertinent if cuts to D.A. services were the reason for Helen not seeking or being offered help?

Shallishanti · 15/11/2015 19:57

hey- the playmobil archers are FAB Grin
I would join twitter if only my tech adviser hadn't just moved out (DD1)

Gruach · 15/11/2015 20:04

Perhaps in 20 or 30 years' time your baby will be on the thread Lilipot15; moaning about character changes and implausible storylines ...

Bimblepops · 15/11/2015 21:00

Just caught up with tonight's episode and wanted to scream at Ruth...David can be totally selfish, but getting an AI contractor in was anything but!

Why the hell didn't he just say - we didn't know if or when you'd be back from Prudder or, if you were back with Heather, whether you would have any time to be on the farm. And actually, there wasn't a good time to discuss it with you because you were either in Prudder or home and mourning.

And then for her to then accuse him of using HP's death as an excuse for not telling her...argghgghghhhhhhhhhgh!

I'm not over infested in TA at all, no

Flowers and Flowers for Pseudo and Lilian, thinking of you both.

Lilipot15 · 15/11/2015 21:26

Gruach, she is certainly used to napping to TA - I save up the omnibus for those days when she just won't settle at home, it's rainy so we just go out and drive. My dad and my DH would argue that it has the same effect on them Grin

Joskar · 15/11/2015 22:36

You never really meet young Dorothys do you? I know one in her late twenties/early thirties.

glintwithpersperation · 15/11/2015 23:06

So is Kirsty going to get the role of the oppressed wife in calendar girls? Will Hellin see the play and realise it's her life? Or is something bad going to happen to Kirsty which stops her taking part in the play and so Hellin has to step in to the part last minute and then realise it's her life?? I can't see knob letting her take part.
Or - perhaps Kirsty's new knowledge of oppressed women will provide her with insight into Hellin and knobs relationship.
Loved the description of Susan's accent tonight.

millymollymandy46 · 15/11/2015 23:53

Glint - I think Kirsty is going to try to help Hellin but...at some point Rob will say to Hellin that she has come on to him.......

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 16/11/2015 08:13

ebearhug on a slightly off topic I am not really sure about the message in that poster.

Gruach · 16/11/2015 08:31

The Archers does seem a rather obscure reference and surely not specifically relevant. The fact that Helen has neither sought, nor been offered, help (so far) is entirely unconnected to cuts in D.A services.

But perhaps that story will come later?

EBearhug · 16/11/2015 08:58

I think they are referring to the Archers because many people are finding it a difficult storyline to listen to, and they're trying to make people realise it's true to life, it does happen, and we do need the support services.

I suspect on TA, Helen won't need such services, because she will be saved by the power of the play somehow, and Pat will be beating herself up once she realises and everyone else will finally mention the dodgy stuff they've seen with Rob and they all live happily over Christmas. Except the Grundys. And Rob.

I wonder if they've considered a skimmity ride. Wrong part of the country, maybe...

RockNRollNerd · 16/11/2015 09:00

Flowers LilG Hope you are doing ok today.

Honestly I think Ruth is on her way out. She's now of the mindset that whatever David does isn't going to be right; she's finding fault with everything and completely ignoring the fact that she left them utterly in the lurch for months in the Summer.

BYOSnowman · 16/11/2015 09:21

I'm starting to think soc has something against regional accents

LillianGish · 16/11/2015 09:36

I think SOC has something against anyone with a distinctive voice. He's trying to ensure everyone sounds the same so we can't tell any of the characters apart.
Thanks so much for all your kind messages Flowers - lovely to be able to retreat here and think about something else.

mummytime · 16/11/2015 09:37

I am confident the Grundy's will have "the best Christmas ever". I'm wondering about Bird flu on the Fairbrethern Geese or something, as well as them moving into Grange Farm (as house sitters).

I do think it's quite funny that we will have Calendar Girls as a Radio play this Christmas - as its quite visual play I'd have thought...
