So many possibilities.... A visit from the Titcheners Snr? Baby of the wrong gender? A ruined wedding? Re-housed Grundys? RuthRex?

I'm not convinced by the Ruth / David stuff.

I just find it all too sudden. They are being so clumsy at the moment.

Let's count some change and get back to normality, please!

DoctorTwo · 14/11/2015 14:16

Thanks for the thread Pseudo, sorry about your friends. Thanks

GruntledOne · 14/11/2015 14:22

Eastpoint, it really is unseasonably warm dahn Sarf at the moment, though admittedly the SWs didn't know that would be the case when this was recorded. But the marquee being hot seemed only too likely.

iPaid · 14/11/2015 16:58

I like David Blush

EBearhug · 14/11/2015 17:11

I fear the Richard Locke sl is heading for him being dans dad despite there being no evidence that could be the case at the time

No, Dan is definitely Mark's and they'd be bloody stupid to try and rewrite that storyline. But I do think Richard would quite like to see Shula again and is using Dan as a way of maintainjng contact. Alistair is off having an affair or some other midlife crisis (surely not gambling again), so ot's probably only a matter of time.

EBearhug · 14/11/2015 17:13

(I like David, too.)

Also, losing a parent can send you a bit loopy,so it's not necessarily unrealistic. But it is unnecessary.

squeaver · 14/11/2015 22:32

My heart sank when I heard Phoebe having that discussion about farming techniques. From PPE at Oxford to a BSC in Ploughing at Felpersham Uni in one episode.

Also, talk about going against creative storytelling 101 (show don't tell) with that whole "I've never thought it before but David's got a massive sense of entitlement" conversation...!!

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 15/11/2015 04:25

I think Knob assumes its a boy because he is a proper man and proper men have sons. All part of his misogyny.

However, if it turns out to be a girl he will want her treated like a princess and then force Hellon into another pregnancy to give him a 'real heir'.

Loving the 'Knobils'.

Gruach · 15/11/2015 07:01

I found it rather splendid to hear Phoebe holding her own against the Kings of the Land. It's as if she has suddenly understand what being an Archer (of Archer blood) means; she has a stake in the agricultural knowledge she was sharing, it's not mere theory. I have endless complaints about the execution of short term SLs - but they deserve a hundred boops for the long term planning that has brought Kate's daughter into her inheritance just as she becomes old enough to grasp it intellectually.

On the other hand I worry constantly that Adam, though "of the blood" lacks the insurance of also being a descendant of Brian; he could so easily, after decades of work, end up with nothing.

(Debbie always seems to have a greater choice of weapons at her disposal ...)

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 15/11/2015 08:01

Knob (Timothy west? ) will be on broadcasting house today at 9.....

DoctorTwo · 15/11/2015 08:17

Timothy Watson... Wink :o

BitOutOfPractice · 15/11/2015 09:33

The way they used 3 or 4 actors to illustrate Dan's party reminded me of old times

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 15/11/2015 09:57

Thanks Doctor!

Dan & Dor Dot.

Boop!

LyndaNotLinda · 15/11/2015 12:31

Thanks for shiny new thread Pseudo and so sorry about your friends Flowers

I shouted Fuck off at Ruth on the radio on Saturday night (was on my own in the car and it was dark). She's so self-pitying and has been perfectly happy up until now to reap all the benefits of David's 'sense of entitlement' - moving into Brookfield and getting the farm with no financial input from her at all. And now all of a sudden HeatherPet's cash all belongs to her.

LyndaNotLinda · 15/11/2015 12:32

Saturday? Friday I mean!

EBearhug · 15/11/2015 14:43

On the other hand I worry constantly that Adam, though "of the blood" lacks the insurance of also being a descendant of Brian; he could so easily, after decades of work, end up with nothing.

Is that still the case, now that he's taken on some of the risk of the farm himself? Same goes for Debbie - she may be busy with a TV career in Hungary now, but she did a fair few years for Home Farm.

NotQuitePerfect · 15/11/2015 15:01

Long term lurker her. Just had to break out and say how much I agree ^^

NotQuitePerfect · 15/11/2015 15:02

here not her Blush

Gruach · 15/11/2015 15:48

EBear as I understood it the only thing Adam has invested so far (under the new agreement) is the risk of earning nothing. And he's agreed to buy in some cows. He's no nearer to being certain to inherit - if anything he seems slightly cut adrift.

LillianGish · 15/11/2015 15:50

Totally agree Lynda. SOC is determined to foist plots on Brookfield at the expense of character and any consideration of what they might actually do in in any given situation.

GruntledOne · 15/11/2015 16:16

To be fair (reluctantly) Ruth can claim to have had a fair bit of financial input in Brookfield by virtue of her work there.

However, I now realise that it is precisely her self-pity that is irritating me so much. When she wails on about how she let her mother down, it sort of feels like she doesn't really believe that but is just trying to get people to tell her how wonderful she is.

Gruach · 15/11/2015 16:28

Pleased to see you on the thread Lil'G.

I guess I might find Ruth's wailing irritating if I believed a word of it. But as it's so clearly just words put in her mouth to drive a no doubt ridiculous SL it makes no particular impression on me.

toldmywrath · 15/11/2015 16:58

Eastpoint "The marquee must have been packed for them to have been warm in it in November." We've been having really warm weather here (SE England) these past few weeks & when me & DH went out to a do recently it was awfully hot- had to have the fire doors open. Really strange for November.
