OP posts:
Minimammoth · 10/11/2015 19:59

Maybe Ruth will get er. .. close to Rex, they seemed very chatty over the goose plucking area.

BYOSnowman · 10/11/2015 20:21

I think everyone got the mind bleach out at the last meeting where a mrs Robinson type sl was suggested...

Minimammoth · 10/11/2015 21:09

Oh sorry, obviously need to catch up on properly reading thread.??

Minimammoth · 10/11/2015 21:11

DadDadDad · 10/11/2015 21:20

Mrs Archer, you're trying to seduce me.

BYOSnowman · 10/11/2015 21:21

If they do go down Ruth and Rex the goose man they will definitely be delving into the depths...

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 10/11/2015 21:42

BYOS!!! Shock

StubbleTurnips · 10/11/2015 22:30

goose plucking area fnar Wink Grin

BYOSnowman · 10/11/2015 22:49

Well it would be interesting if Rex ended up being the lover man

is there a large glass window overlooking the altar at st Stephens? I fear for the stained glass. Another problem could be the lack of regula bus service in ambridge(is there one at all?)

Up side to that sl is that we would lose pip for a few years

DadDadDad · 10/11/2015 23:56

Now, look what you made me do, rewatch the end of The Graduate when I should be going to bed. Pure gold.

Travelledtheworld · 11/11/2015 05:21

Great.
Thanks Dad

Boop! Oh I LOVED the bit where Susan said she'd asked Neil to try and imagine what it would be like to be married to a pushy woman but he said he couldn't even imagine it! Classic Susan!

Tickory · 11/11/2015 09:22

Well Ruth has form hasn't she...remember her cringeworthy 'affair' with the farm hand? She was going to run away with him wasn't she. Then there was a lot of 'Deevid, oh Deevid'...

redshoeblueshoe · 11/11/2015 09:29

I'd like to know what Rob said to the teacher. I imagine it was nothing to do with Henry, but more Helen is having a very difficult pregnancy so I shall be collecting Henry from now on, and if there are any problems please contact me directly, I don't want Helen worrying anything
Back in the real world what is Hellin doing all day ? And surely the dowry will either have run out by now, or will be doing soon.

WipsGlitter · 11/11/2015 10:18

I thought the bit about Calendar girls and Helen was good. She copped on it was going to annoy him and dropped the idea. Loved the bit about how it was Tom pointing out the job as well.

Also loved the Clarrie - Susan exchange!!

BYOSnowman · 11/11/2015 10:25

Sam the cowman was just as dull as Rex the goose man appears to be

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/11/2015 10:29

Sam the cowman always sounded as if he had hairy feet.

GruntledOne · 11/11/2015 11:51

I hated it that Rob dressed up his issue with Calendar Girls in terms of Henry being unable to live it down - though that's in terms of the character, not the scriptwriting which is spot on. FFS, what 5 year old cares if his classmates' mother is in an amateur production; even if one does find out that it involves a nude calendar, at that age it wouldn't really amount to any more than a bit of giggling about whether anyone could see mummy's bum. And a number of the other parents will be in the production anyway.

TheYahYahYah · 11/11/2015 12:06

Rob is rather stupid and may well change his mind when he discovers that Jenny "The Boudicca of Borsetshire" and social queen of the village is appearing in the show. It would only take one lazy aside from Brian, about how proud he is of his magnificent wife, for Rob to reprimand Helen for hanging back.

I keep worrying about whether she backed out because she thought he must be right or because she's scared of him, or both, or ...?

(Involuntary nc btw.)

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 11/11/2015 12:09

Well, George's granny is going to be in it, and I'm sure he'll be fine!

But of course if the Grundies are going to be in it, that's another good Rob-reason why Hellon shouldn't...

squeaver · 11/11/2015 13:30

The Christmas show is interesting because I can remember last year at this time thinking Rob might not want Helen involved yet she did it without any complaint from him. It shows the gradual progression of his control over her.

TheYahYahYah · 11/11/2015 14:13

N B-S, wonderful in The Guardian this month.

And I've learnt a new word.

enochroot · 11/11/2015 15:07

How many children down pencils because their hand hurts if they think they can get away with it?
