New thread in time for Friday's episode...

What I meant by Charlie being on thin ice is that if Justin pushes the point, Charlie's evidence against Rob is based on some unsubstantiated information about Rob being seen by someone unknown blocking the culvert and then some queries about the fertility etc. Rob left before Charlie had to sack him. If Justin talks to Rob he'll get a whole spiel about Charlie which will be just as believable.

WipsGlitter · 13/11/2015 09:06

Why does no-one else point out even casually to Rob that it might be a girl - all this shite about 'little fellow who is on the way'.

EBearhug · 13/11/2015 09:07

Isn't it also based on the fertility figures etc, though? That's a bit more solid than the culvert.

LillianGish · 13/11/2015 09:20

If Charlie was on such thin ice why did Knob walk out? All a bit too vague and woolly changing the story as we go along. Still can't believe that when Knob walked out and Charlie presumably had to explain this Justin that he didn't present him with the facts. Justin must have some inkling of what's going on otherwise would Charlie be on a constant knife edge worrying about what Justin is going to say? I'm looking forward to a reappearance from Ursula who will hopefully be able to tell us a few home truths about Knob.

Wips, Helen has mentioned to Rob a couple of times early on that it might be a girl, but she was quickly shushed by the killer line, 'Of course it's a boy, darling, we both know that.' So that's that then. Wink

The Grundys are so obviously going to end up at Grange Farm for Christmas. The valuables are in storage, I'm sure Oliver and Caroline will extend their visit to Tuscany, and having "house sitters" will keep the property safe. And if they are being pushed out of Grey Gables...

JessieMcJessie · 13/11/2015 10:41

I find it hard to believe that Kathy has taken a unilateral decision to evict the Grundys from GG without consulting Caroline and Oliver, who would probably not agree without ensuring they had somewhere to go, and would also undoubtedly want to deliver the news themselves given the close relationship. In fact, since Hazel's insurers are paying the bill then all comms about the Grundys should actually have been directed to Hazel and it would be her responsibility to tell them. It's all b*llcks I'm afraid.

As to why Rob left Berrow if Charlie was on thin ice with his accusations, I saw Rob as itching to get rid of his responsibilities there so he could focus without distraction on inveigling himself into Bridge Farm and controlling Helen completely. The dischord with Charlie was just a convenient excuse. Rob never expressed any professional pride in Berrow and never even sounded particularly interested in his job.

Agree completely about Rob/Charlie/Berrow, Jessie.

Re Grundy eviction storyline - yes, very poorly thought through. We all saw it coming, which isn't necessarily a problem, but it's been a nonsense to have them living at GG all this time.

Grange Farm for Christmas and then into Rickyard or a rapidly refurbished Marnies in the New Year?

Blatant place marking
