She doesn't sound quite right - I was wondering if it was because I hadn't heard her voice for so long, or because the actress has a cold. Or that she's someone else entirely. Do they publish a cast list anywhere?

I thought she sounded chilled; cat's got the cream-ish. And her delivery was always quite individual so I'd be surprised if anyone could imitate it so closely.

I'm pretty sure the actress playing Kathy is unchanged, same depressing voice. When she started that question in the interview asking to describe a problem and how you have overcome it, I died a little inside, partly because it's one of those brain-frying interview cliches, and partly because Kirsty seemed so unenthusiastic, I couldn't bear to hear her answer it.

But Kirsty thought she wouldn't get the job because she was too enthusiastic! I thought she sounded unprepared!

Goes to show we don't always hear what they think they've written!

I wondered if it was a new actress playing Kathy at first, but then when she started speaking more I remembered only too well the irritation I normally feel on hearing that voice and realised she was definitely the old one.

At the RT thing, whatsit who plays Lynda said something about actors coming back into the series after a break finding it quite hard to get into the groove again. She may even have had Kathy in mind when she said it.

They are so cruel to us. We've just got rid of HP and then they go and resurrect Kathy.

Kathy was almost unable to speak having been silent for so long.

Erm..I've done some cleaning and other bits and bobs in a pt temp job for a few weeks. It's my dream job even though I've never done anything remotely like it before.

Jeeves Didn't she say that she'd recently been working at a health club in Borchester? She may have had no relevant experience before. It's true she could have tried to get some but until a year and half ago she was quite complacently working at the shop and Jaxx.

So I get two details wrong and nobody picked me up on them I said Rex was called Alex and I thought it was him who made the exclusivity deal with Ian. So putting them in a gay relationship (duh) silly me.

It was smarmy Toby, who the returned Kathy (she has such a boring voice are you all sure you WANT her back?) called 'handsome' . So maybe she's the cougar after young Toby . Serve him right
