Divatheshopaholic · 13/03/2010 22:09

carrielou2007 · 13/03/2010 22:15

We had some of yesterdays banana cake dd and I made with custard. The leek/chicken/bacon bake was super yum yum but the leeks have had an unfortunate side affect upon me

Ordered my snunkie liner and now looking at footmuffs, can't decide between mut dogs in a sort of pisachio (sp) green or zoology in black/blue/green. How have I never seen this site before

nicolamumof3 · 13/03/2010 22:21

really carrielou? where did you get customs before? i must order my liner for nipper (even tho i don't use it! madness eh?) i want one for spring.

carrielou2007 · 13/03/2010 22:27

I have only had poshbugs stuff before...can't decide which to get (for winter, equal madness!!) and if to get lined in fleece or the same material...am hyperventilating and drooling at the same time

nicolamumof3 · 13/03/2010 22:40

pmsl you're worse than me.

i can't decide on fabrics either which is why i haven't ordered tbh...theres too much choice!!

maxybrown · 13/03/2010 22:48

yeah me too, I had a look. I think I would like green/blue zoo and green fleece.

basl · 14/03/2010 08:04

oh and don't think this is going to be the best mothers day i have had. We had a visit from my best friends boyfriend as she has something already arranged (diva does that sound familiar) any way he is 27 and very lovley but my dh announced how he would love to go on a lads holiday to ibiza or something as life is too short and feels he wants to do something for himself for once. Feeling like he constantly working and just wants a bit of fun something to look forward to. Well the friends boyfriend all up for this so they discussed this while i sat fizzing. They could not see the problem and dh kept saying she just does not get it. I still like doing family things but i want to do something for myself for a change. Friends boyfriend kept saying why do they always think it's about them and don't realise it's not that they don't want us to come but just nice to have time out.
Well i stomped off to bed which caused no reaction at all as the contiued to laugh and chat all night. Well i am so . I think my dh is having a mid life crisis thingy. He keeps siging all the time and muttering is this what it's all about.
Sorry ladies just had to blab on about that.

nicolamumof3 · 14/03/2010 08:16

oh basl....not nice. Im lucky that my dh is totally family orientated i am too. dh is my best friend and i only ever want to do things with him involved.

Maybe you just need some time together just the two of you? being you and not mummy and daddy is that possible. Shame we are all so far apart we could have a fab babysitting circle going on.

hugs to you lovely it will be ok xxx

basl · 14/03/2010 08:29

thanks nic, my dh is usually the same. Infact he has never spoke like this before. He looks so down just now and finding life a bit ground hog just like we spoke the other day. He works so much and when home i am stressed all the time as you are aware and i just think something needs to give and you are prob right can't remeber last time we went out together. I think to be honest i have let myself go so much in the looks department and never really want to do anything other than family things. He is always commenting on how i really will feel better if i lost some weight etc. He knows i am really struggling just now but suppose he feels he is fighting a loosing battle and things what the hell not gonna get dragged down by this.
Anyway nic do you have something lovley planned today?

nicolamumof3 · 14/03/2010 08:42

Basl im sure he adores you whatever you look like. Do plan a night out or maybe a nice dinner at home...buy something nice that fits you and is flattering that you feel comfortable in (i've given up squeezing myself into pre-dc's clothes its not going to happen just makes you feel worse ) do something for you guys as a couple. Even if its just a movie/pizza have a few glasses wine relax and be just you.

we are hopefully going out for a walk soon as its lovely day then lunch out later at terry's restaurant yum!

i just got a really pretty scarf off thomas v.surprised! Nice cards and a cup from terry (the boofle bear ones) lovely

carrielou2007 · 14/03/2010 09:48

Morning, Happy Mummies day everyone

Basl men - different species - please don't think it is because you are not a size zero, not being with you has not even entered his head he is just being a wee bit selfish and thoughtless.

I had decided not to order the footmuff, I have the george pig and apples it would be greedy now I think, sod it, but do I line it in green or black fleece...umm...

Sal sending you 'opening-like-a-flower' vibes not I'm much help, both mine had to be pulled out of me

janx · 14/03/2010 10:09

happy day everyone
basl - my dp has a weekend away with his brothers every year - he needs it and it gives him and his brothers the chance to do all the stuff they enjoy - I don't take it as a slight on me - I think it is quite healthy actually - but that's just me....he probably doesn't realize it upset you - men have such different approaches to things!
I am going to try and have a weekend away with a few of my friends this year. Having said that - it is really important to make time for the two of you- so you just don't feel like mum and dad all the time....nic right - do something together that reminds you of why you both love each other...best to you - you sound like a lovely person and always say nice things to other people on this thread.
Got a nice expensive soap and handcream from the kids and out to lunch with my mum later...

maxybrown · 14/03/2010 10:11

Happy Mothers Day

I have just got up then DH is making me egg on toast. I got some chocolate and Mr Beans Teddy, a big one, which is what I have wanted for years and a really cute card with a mummy kangaroo and a joey thet comes out, sweet.

Basl, I think people do get like that at times. DH gets a bit like that in a different way, he never has time to sit and read or just tinker on his bike, but I guess we are fortunate that it is he wants to come to when he is like this. One of his main gripes is that he doesn't get enough time with us. But they do think very differently, and it is so hard to see past themselves at times. Even my Dad who is the kindest loving man ever - I can tell you it has been hard for my sister and I to choose a partner in life as they have a lot to live up to with my Dad - he is so thoughtful and always puts my Mum first and adores her, it is lovely to see - but even he has moments!! It is a man thing - I don't mean that in an all "womens rights" kind of way, but it is true!! I know that won't prob make you feel better, but hey moan to us anytime.

It would be good if we were all nearer to each other Nicola.

Right sorry for the long yawny speech
