No we not going abroad til no pushchairs etc DH says!!

It is lovely really it is. Well my friends have a lovely bungalow and then Graham built "the Chalet" next to their house and they used to holiday let it. Then me and partner at time moved into it as they were getting older and fed up of cleaning it every weekend, then at the bottom of their garden they have this caravan. My ex David still lives there, we all get on great so will hopefully go for at least 2 weeks this year.

Basl, I think gring sounds beter than grin anyway

Well my husband loves being abroad and likes not having to drive as he drives all day everyday as a job so loves the weather and not having to be mega clothed all the time. Easy for him to say Mr slim jim.

nicolamumof3 · 09/03/2010 22:03

we first went abroad with tate when he was 8m old it was a little tricky mostly with food. he coped with heat brilliantly was amazed tbh. had towel on pushchair and he was in nappy most of time. That was a lovely holiday we went for a wedding actually!

Then we went to fuerteventura last feb that was great too. Children love travelling. Have not found it a hassle really. And lovely experience. My dh is same as yours basl he's real sun worshipper loves the heat. i love seeing the kids run carefree and barefoot too

5inthebed · 09/03/2010 22:07

OFA - you need a smaller fold down pram for your holiday. BJCMs are fab as they have a huge hood and very light.

My BJCM is all packaged up and ready to go.

I'm watching One Born Every Minute on +4 as went to Tesco before.

maxybrown · 09/03/2010 22:12

none of us good in the sun hence our reluctance, I get so hot I fear I could kill someone (no really) and that's just in this country never been abroad

Divatheshopaholic · 09/03/2010 22:16

Lol must be my two is horrors. Trip to tecso is hard work with them. I cant imagine trapped in airlane with them, too. Now i sound like really bad mummy, aint i?
OFA, BJCM is fab for small baby, very compact and easy to fold, too.

carrielou2007 · 09/03/2010 22:16

We are going to Torquay at easter and taking cam as ds can sleep in the carrycot. I wouldn't take it abroad though. Dd was 10 weeks the first time we took her abroad.

nicolamumof3 · 09/03/2010 22:21

yep an xt with tilting hood good...so would bjcm because of big hood.

i don't get hot as we just stay in pool all day! tates just started swimming so will be great for him. Its really nice our own villa cannot wait!!!!

5inthebed · 09/03/2010 22:28

We are going near Scarborough for our summer hols. Oh the excitement . I can't wait, lovely little caravan holiday, beautiful beach, and somewhere where I know DS2 will be able to cope with being away from home. Thats all I need.

maxybrown · 09/03/2010 22:41

I get hot even now, really, I can't explain it, hot from the inside like I am going to explode!! My cheeks are constantly red. DH is the same, but we are not pool lovers unfortunately, more explorers I can't just sit still in sun, drives me potty that. I am far too fidgety I think we like shade and cold

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 09/03/2010 22:49

lol maxy each to their own eh?

now that i've had kids and never stop at home 10mins in the sun on the lounger is bliss! you don't get anymore than that with three kids believe me...its can i have a drink/ice cream/something else to eat...wheres my....?/can we go in the pool/

then me...wheres your hat? you need cream on? blah blah blah!!

love it at night to stroll into town or along beach in short and t-shirt bliss that bit!

basl · 09/03/2010 22:49

Olivia just been sick all over the place. She was coughing so much little lamb and today has been the first time she ate a meal since last thusday and it had to be spag bol. I have had to strip her bed and clean all the floor and now chucking (pardon the pun)some toys out she managed to hit. Oh it is horrible but she was so upset. She is now in our bed with towels everywhere.
Maxy i am a very hot person too but somehow like it better abroad as it is a diff kind of heat. Never lie in the sun. Anyway off to do more scrubbing. night night

nicolamumof3 · 09/03/2010 23:02

poor angel i feel so bad for them when they are sick they get so upset don't they? hope she's better soon.

maxybrown · 09/03/2010 23:02

yeah, each to their own. If I went abroad it would have to be a sightseeing thing for us. DH is History teacher after all

Oh noooooo Basl poor all of you, horrid

yes other people said that to me about heat. Dh ent to Turkey and only just survived and he is the only person I have ever met that understands about the feeling hot issue. It is like an animal raging inside lol. I nearly killed the midwifes in hospital when they wouldn't let me go home, I did manage to calmy explain to one how I felt about the excessive heat and she did finally listen thankfully. It is like my thermostat is broken As long as no one is visiting i spend all my time indoors half naked there prob is some medical term i no doubt
Hope Olivia improves x

nicolamumof3 · 09/03/2010 23:09

oh maxy im the opposite, i must have circulatory issues im constantly cold.

however since being pg with tate i haven't managed so well in extreme heat (say 30degs plus) it was 45degs when we went to turkey! and didn't drop much at night. Night was hard our air con was crap but terry loves it!! wouldn't have air con on at all. i suppose it comes from 20yrs working in temps over 100degs.F he's always warm.

im sat here with uggs on and socks but my feet feel cold.

oh i can go to bed now dh is home!!

maxybrown · 09/03/2010 23:11

My Mum is like that, she's always trying to bundle James up and he's like us I think we have produced this contsantly mega hot child!

Still, Nic, it is good we differ in some ways eh have you bought that top yet? I will hold off in case you don't like it

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 09/03/2010 23:12

ah no i haven't been looking for blooming gap short pj's no success are they in shops yet does anyone know?

maxybrown · 09/03/2010 23:17

I thought they were there last time I went. Going on Thursday hopefully. Will look and see.

I might try James in them again this year. he is wearing those long ones from you and bexie with no fuss, hoorah!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 10/03/2010 07:32

thats good they aren't as thick/tight as the boden ones. Theres no way i'll get luka in boden skinnies they are ridiculous atm Tate is wearing AGE 6 boden pj's its silly!

sal1309 · 10/03/2010 08:09

morning all

all these holidays sound great we havent booked one for this year yet. will probably end up in newquay in september

well going to clean the dining room today. Dh is still in bed what a suprise he is off all this week and as usual all he is doing is sleeping while im running round like an idiot grrr I just sometimes wish i could have a lie in and a rest but know it will never happen.

maxybrown · 10/03/2010 08:15

Oh I know Nic the Boden ones are just silly, even on James. I had age 4 for him before and they were too tight on his arms.

I love the Gap ones though, but got some shortie Joules ones and they are lovely. Age 4 and massive but wearable and cute

Oh Sal, take it easy please, and do less. I would start with cleaning your bedroom if I were you

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 10/03/2010 08:48

i've not checked joules for pj's must admit off to have a look now!!

sal fgs open the curtains remind him it is YOU that is about to give birth and what is he going to do for you?? (you can imagine my poor suffering dh can't you!! hahah)

nicolamumof3 · 10/03/2010 08:56

couldn't see any on joules site? didn't like ones on ebay. need summer shorty ones now..

i've been quite productive this morning. Terry went to work to do a breakfast shift early. I've done some washing hung it out, mopped kitchen/utility floors and hoovered. Put volo covers back on (they now smell devine!) think i will keep it so handy for summer and takes up no room in understairs cupboard. And packed carrielou's buggysnuggle (also smelling devine!)

more washing to hang up now then time for a bath i think. boys breakfasted and now in front of beebies and tom off to school

maxybrown · 10/03/2010 09:02

oh no, I got mine from ebay so older ones I guess. They are shortie ones, lovely. Maybe they stopped doing them you've been busy, must get a move on myself!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 10/03/2010 09:08
