its lovely tho sal! i had tate when tom was 6.5yr it was scary but then lovely as tom was at school all day so i had all day with baby to myself was nice. Then when Tate was 10m old there i was pg again!!

sal1309 · 21/02/2010 21:50

wow quite a close age gap between the last too do you think it was harder having them closer together as i always wanted a smaller gap between dd and this one but it took us nearly 2 years to concieve so hoping dd can help me (feel involved) as she is 3

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/02/2010 21:57

Age gap will be great Sal. DD will get to nursery? and be able to help. Is she toilet trained too? That would be a benfit.
What was the hauck infinty type pushchair that was a real bargain last year?

nicolamumof3 · 21/02/2010 22:02

was it first wheels dunoon?

both age gaps have been good tbh sal. It is a joy to watch how close the two little ones are now they are v.sweet with each other. Both idolise big bruv tho! both have pro's and cons tho tbh. i still want another so can't have been that hard! Things are much easier now with luka too. he's behaving better, walking nicely etc. more responsive and talking loads.

sal1309 · 21/02/2010 22:03

fmtd im quite lucky dd is toilet trained and she goes to preschool every morning so will have a few hours of just me and the baby grin. I just sometimes think that i wouldnt be worrying about it as much if dd wasnt so independant lol

Cant see me having anymore after this one though. although dh has said he would like one more try at having a boy lol.

sal1309 · 21/02/2010 22:07

nicola glad things are getting better with luka. There is only 13 months between my mates two little boys and they have a lovely bond.

I must admit i only ever really wanted 1 child but then changed my mind plus the fact dh is an only child and he said he wouldnt want that for our dd ( theres 13 years between me and my brother so although ive got a great bro he wasnt round much when i was younger iykwim)

fmtd as nicola said, think it might of been firstwheels everyone was on about last year

maxybrown · 21/02/2010 22:13

DS will be an only.....sometimes I feel guilty about that, but hey ho! Sure he will survive!

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/02/2010 22:17

Will check out the first wheels.
Sal I have children of similar ages as Nicola and can confirm that there are pros and cons to both. However with your DD in nursery and toilet trained you have avoided some hassle. I can't actually remember two in nappies being really terrible but surely it must be easier with just one.
I also loved my times when DD2 was off to nursey and the baby and I were on our own. Then again the rush getting everyone out of the house on time......
Lots of babies around. I get broody too.

sal1309 · 21/02/2010 22:19

hey maxy just think you can spoil him rotten i keep thinking with 2 its double xmas pressies and if we go out its double entrance fees ect. I wouldnt feel guilty hun he will be fine my dh survived fine i think he uses it as an excuse so i give him more children lol

maxybrown · 21/02/2010 22:23

Thanks Sal

morning and just in from work but never can resist a little look. Maxy my dh was just saying today what a lovley stage olivia is at and loves spending time when he gets a chance with her. He said how nice it would be to just have all the time in the world to spend on her but quickly he said he would never swap our situation now for anything it's just i think if you have one child they can have so much time spend with out having to think of the other one however having the two is just lovley because they do love each other and makes life a bit more interesting . I think we all do what is best for us.
Maxy did i read you have lots of long sleeved tops? Do you have any for sale

nicolamumof3 · 22/02/2010 08:11

Maxy don't feel guilty, you will have a very special close bond with DS. Tom was an only child for 6.5yrs he asked for a brother constantly tho once he started school then ended up with 2 for the price of 1!! never found 2 in nappies a problem, change one do another...done!

lillypie · 22/02/2010 08:56

Morning everyone not been on much as have a lot on in RL atm

In just over two weeks I am off to Australia for a month,I am SO excited as I haven't seen my family for over two years!

But my real big news is that I got a BFP last week.I am thrilled and terrified all at the same time.I am 45 and we had been trying for 12 months from when dd turned one (she is three next month)but after 12 months of temping and charting and heartbreak every month we just decided that it wasn't going to happen and just put it out out of our minds.

It is very early days and things can go wrong but at the moment I am glowing with happiness

carrielou2007 · 22/02/2010 09:03

Morning all

Not long now sal. Dd was 3 on 5th Jan and I was terrified!!! She has been brill, wants to help, gets mummy the nappy cream, muslim etc. Didn't need a buggy, no nappies, started playschool in the afternoons. I felt a bit guilty her being an only but I always only wanted one and never wanted another. Yet now I still can't believe that I have two children how lucky am I!!

Dd goes to CM (as have to pay retainer) then playgroup so ds and I have a day to ourselves and dd has a ball. We're going to Bristol shopping in a min though it is snowing quite a lot (but not settling) and it seems odd to just have ds with me.

carrielou2007 · 22/02/2010 09:17

OMG LILLYPIE FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC

lillypie · 22/02/2010 09:19

I know I can't believe it

carrielou2007 · 22/02/2010 09:24

I just actualy whoop-whooped when I read that, dd said what is it mummy

lillypie · 22/02/2010 09:35

lol we are very excited but it's very scary too!

How's your yummy baby? Your dd seems to love being a big sister.

carrielou2007 · 22/02/2010 09:44

He is scrummy. Full of cold and still coughing lots poor little man. Dd loves him but does forget how to be gentle, just put him in his snow suit (taking dd to CM in a min) and she runs over to him, trips and puts her hand on his head to break her fall!!!

maxybrown · 22/02/2010 09:57

Ooh lovely lillypie, well done

Thanks Nicola, I am sure DS would love a baby (in theory anyway) he is a very sociable creature so hopefully will make friends easily anyway.

lol Basl, yes I will have some tops for sale! Just going to sort through what I can bear to part with , can email you some pics
