Morning

Basl dd has done that twice, they don't pop it in like a shoulder as the joint is different they should just manipulate it. It took dd a few days both times to fully use it again and seeing her with her arm hanging limply was awful. Lots of calpol (plus the odd swig for me!!)

We came back yesterday after a horrible weekend, I was given the only caravan on the site with no parking by it, had to park and carry everything up the hill then along a narrow path and up 23 steps. It took 3 and a half hours to check in/change caravan only to then find the shower didn't work.

Dd and I could not go to any of the evening entertainment or kids clubs as it was up 3 flights of stairs and lift was out of order. Wewere a long way from there so had to take the buggy and couldn't carry it. How on earth anyone with a double or anyone in a wheelchair was supposed to manage? After reporting the shower again and again to reception finally on sunday afternoon I'd had enough and checked out and we came home so I could have a shower.

The place was VERY rough and lots of very rough people all swearing at their kids/pints in hands all hours/couldn't get in the doors for people blocking the way outside smoking. As you can tell I was not a happy bunny!!!

OK, XLR has come.......tis great, but more used than I imagined an 8 week old pushchair to be. I know I am fussy and I have been realsitic in that. Covers are already in the wash lol.

But the frame has scratches (quite severe for "age") and scuffs (again not being unrealsitic), that I feel should have been mentioned, like the hadnles etc.

It makes it harder, as the woman was so nice and helpful so feel awful saying something, but I should shouldn't I? Also asked her about the warranty.

Right, had another look and taken my fussy head off. Mainly, it is the handles, I know lots of people have said about the chrome wearing/chipping off though. Also, it was a litle "grubby", not manky, "grubby" and I find it hard to say that to someone as what I think is grubby, may be ok to them......shudder. I hate bits in pushchairs. It is nice though and has the newer one handed recline which is much much better. No actual damage to anything that i can see. Just more scuffed than I would get it Right, fussy moment over......as soon as those covers are out

Can you get spare handles I wonder?

janx · 19/10/2009 11:28

Hi Maxy
See you have got an xlr - are they much bigger that the xt - Luka is getting so tall that when he is asleep and I put the recline back on the xt - he is right squashed up to the end! What did you pay for it - if you don't mind me asking - was it an ebay purchase.

carrielou2007 · 19/10/2009 11:29

Hhmn, my back xt does not have any scracthes to the frame at all (though I don't lift it in and out of the car to get scratched I suppose) and I have been using it since feb now??

Not sure about the handles as mine have lost most of the silver tips (keep meaning to look into getting replacements) but again that's frome pushing it everyday for the last 9 months. Maybe the seller only had it for 8 weeks but bought it herself second hand (so she is telling the truth ifywim)??

maxybrown · 19/10/2009 11:47

Yeah I wondered same thing carrilou, although the fabric has new feel, just bits on it.... Looks like it's been dragged about a bit I reckon. I am very fussy! lol. Not all of the silver has gone. Just some of it. Silly design I think. Mostly it is scuffs actually, and on the brakes/wheel caps - like it has been folded and stored/slid across a hard floor, garage maybe or something. Acyually looking it over, it prob is feasible she has only had it that long if slung it along a hard floor. Wheels have little wear.

Jan, I love the XLR, a lot of people don't, I know as it's reasonably high. Seat is nice and roomy. Go into Mothercare and see if you can stick him in one Yes it was an ebay purchase, £120. But that was good for model (even if it is scuffed!)

Anywya, covers on the line blowing and look good. I have calmed down now and it will be fine fuss fuss fuss!!

Right, jan I am off to wash the Nipper footmuff for you, then post tomorrow.

I went into John Lewis after work on Saturday and the two blokes were real twats - had a look at the xlr - v nice.
Take ds shopping? - that would be a first

5inthetomb · 19/10/2009 12:45

You should complain Carrie. Poor you having to hike up and down stairs Where did you go again?

I just can't get motivated today. Had such an anti climax after my night away last week. Maybe a new purchase will cheer me up

basl · 19/10/2009 12:51

Hi, thanks so much for all your kind words carrielou2007 i think i am going to take him back up as they said if he does not want to use his arm they will try again. Now i don't know if it is because it has sorted it's self out and still sore but he just does not want to use it. He cried when he rolled over during the night so he is very tired and i think teething as well. He is walking about but when he sits down he cries at the thought of having to put his arm down. Suppose i could go back no harm done. maxybrown i have had that alot when someone described a pushchair as immaculate and far from it. I contacted her and she said she was appauled at my comments. It was mouldy and had food in the seat and smelled so bad. Why do people say immaculate when i clearly is nothing like.

basl · 19/10/2009 12:55

TheDevilsKnickers i love that colour. Can you believe i have a travel set i got from littlewoods that i spend of £50.00 to get as it was brown and green colours and i very nearly got the quest to go with it but never. I think those colours are lovley. If you do get it and fancy a little set of travel bags that could be used as a nappy change bag let me know. How sad am i to buy a pushchair to go with a bag.[hblus] DS is fast a sleep so going to AE when he wakes.

maxybrown · 19/10/2009 13:02

oh basl bless him.

I have to say it did not smell at all, or any mould or anything nasty, I am just fussy, but then I would never ever send anything manky.....hang on, I don't even KEEP things manky!!! There was a bit of food on it (bleuuurrrgh) and loads caked in the harness main clip - all gone now and covers are looking fab on the line. I'm happy anyway, will look fab when put back together......hope it hurries up and dries I want to go out

Ohh it's me again and i have just had delivery of the babyjogger city mini. I wanted all black and it is grey/black the one from boots. Oh i don't know what to do now wether to send it back. Do you know i think i am loosing the plot. As soon as i ordered it i started thinking i really wanted the luna mix. I am so tired and totally fed up with my pushchair delemas. I will open and have a look just to see.

nicolamumof3 · 19/10/2009 13:06

afternoon all, stayed far too long at my friends so rushed back to lunch boys and leave for nursery in 10mins flat! phew!! now have lots of cleaning and plan to go through all DS' wardrobes and clear out DS2 in particular has far too much so look out for picturetrail later.

Maxy i found my xlr handles scuffed instantly in car because the length it is more easy to scuff etc i think. Not everyone is as fussy as us eh?

I've had no chipping to my silver handles but im quite anal about how i keep it as i love the silver handles.

maxybrown · 19/10/2009 13:14

No Nicola, I thought of you instantly I'll take some pics later. Shall I leave money in PP for jeans & cords then or is that a while off yet?

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 19/10/2009 13:16

the jeans will be done with first, he's still wearing the boden cords with turn ups, really weird their sizing is!! Its more tates clothing getting out control but i need to sort through as luka needs some more jeans so need to nick some out of tates drawer!

love to see piccies of XLR

maxybrown · 19/10/2009 13:30

Yeah I think the Boden sizing is weird too. The baby stuff seems to be bigger than the boys this time. Goody about jeans though I think DS is having a growth spurt, which is always dodgy as he seems to get slimmer then - not helpful at all!!!

Just checked the covers on line, almost dry, does look good....can't wait to see the bunker on it.

OP posts:
SpookyScattyKatty · 19/10/2009 13:37

Come on Luka....Pleeeeeeeeeeeeese grow!

nicolamumof3 · 19/10/2009 13:40

the bunker will be perfect match oooh might oust your nipper out of top spot lol!!

maxybrown · 19/10/2009 13:42

I doubt it, love my Nipper and ds sleeps so well in it. I have put the heating on to finish off the drying process

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 19/10/2009 13:45
