Ryanair broke my toddler's pushchair and wants proof of purchase

Can anyone help me? I flew on Ryanair alone with my toddler, and they completely broke my buggy. I couldn't push it and was stranded at the airport! It was a gift from someone no longer with us but they are insisting i need a receipt/proof of purchase which i dont have. Has anyone got proof of purchase for a joolz hub +?

I'm so sorry for you. Ryanair broke my very good (expensive) suitcase last month. I did not have proof of purchase so they only agreed to compensate £43, as a credit towards my next booking! So unfair, but I will be hanging on to all receipts now on! Hope you can argue your case - could you complain to the civil aviation agency?

Are you seriously asking someone to help you defraud Ryanair? I mean, it’s not the most pleasant of companies, but even so….

When they broke my DD’s buggy, I shrugged and got a second hand one.

Cheap air fares v. poor customer service, You pays your money, and you takes your chance.

Insurance companies normally ask for receipts if making a claim. have you got photo of the buggy being used recently prior to damage?

Can you tell them the amount you expect to be compensated, stating that the receipt is not available and the cost of a direct replacement is X? Ultimately how you acquired the buggy is of little significance, the brand and model can be evidenced presumably by image. And you are asking them to return you to the position you were in before they damaged the pram. Which was that you had a working buggy. I would probably reply to that effect, state the cost of replacement and that if they do not reimburse you’ll take them to the small claims court.

How am i defrauding them? They broke my buggy and left me stranded, also waiting for hours at the airport for help from them to get a PIR number alone with a toddler

Also im a single mum I dont have the luxery of just buying a new one, if i could I would but thanks for your unhelpful comments!

So have they given any suggestion after you said it was a gift. I assume you didn't get any documentation with it, gift receipt, email?

Heard is not the same as they don’t. Say it was a gift, state the approx date of purchase and current retail price(or equivalent model).

I'm sure if you speak to them the same way you've spoken to people on here you'll get absolutely nothing.

Why in earth would anyone provide you with a receipt when they have absolutely no idea what you'll do with it? Online receipts have people's personal details on.

I havnt spoken to anyone in anyway, someone keeps commenting accusing me of this that and the other which is just pointless. Dont think its kind to tell someone to just buy a new one when they dont know someones financiall situation or accusing me of lying to an airline when I have not lied once.
