thamks for those pics tiggy, very helpful.

are there any known faults with the b-dual that would be beneficial buying new over second hand for warrenty purposes?

Tiggywunkle · 10/11/2011 09:19

Daisybell, welcome! You are doing well so far with 5 pushchairs. I don't think a 2010/11 makes a lot of difference unless later on your baby wants to sit more upright. Personally I don't think the board in the back (the easy way to see if you have a 2011 as the 2010 is simply fabric) makes a huge difference.
I put a Bugaboo Cocoon in my City Mini which worked brilliantly until ten months. But people use Petit Zia and Graco soft cots. Or simply get a nice cosy toes :)
The Bugaboo Cocoon is easy to transfer between pushchairs and barely get used so would be a good EBay buy.

Misdee - I am glad it was helpful. I have to say I don't know of anyone who has had issues with a B-Dual but I try to buy new if I can in case there are any. But Britax seems a pretty reliable brand!

oh poo, Sad took my cameleon out this morning with handle set at 104cm and the tops of my arms are hurting and shoulders, it was fine just pushing it up and down the hallway, but pushing it outside completely different, def can not buy a vista, why do they have to have the handle set so high.
been looking at the bj elite and its just too wide, its wider than anything i have owned [apart from doubles, but then even some of the tandems i have used are not as wide] so i am now stuck, waiting for report from monkeys to how the jane is, but the 15kg weight limit Hmm ds would not be able to jump in, but then i could use it when he is at school and use the orbit or kiwi or caboose when he is with me, if the jane is no good, then i will not be getting a new one, as don't know of any other ones, i would like. Sad Sad Sad oh hum, never thought the day would come, that there is no pushchair out there that i like or is suitable, bloody handle heights and being a short arse GRRRRRRRRRRR

suzie38 · 10/11/2011 09:39

I wonder if the Cruz will have such a high lowest setting???

OP posts:
suzie38 · 10/11/2011 09:40

See that was me with my Black Cameleon...In the shop it felt fine but out and about it was just too uncomfortable and the reason i've got to sell it on.

OP posts:
pramsgalore · 10/11/2011 09:42

i don't understand why they have to make any pushchair with such a high handle bar, why can they not all start at around 98cm and go from there Sad

fairimum · 10/11/2011 09:44

I did the same before got the vista and found other buggys were uncomfortbale to push at that height but tried the vista anyway and found as the push is so so light that i havent had the same problem with the vista (thank god!) does any one have a vista you could borrow to try out??

pramsgalore · 10/11/2011 09:47

no. no one, how tall are you please?

suzie38 · 10/11/2011 10:02

I tried the Vista in a shop and it felt fine but didn't out in the field but then i hated the suspension so that's probably why i gave up on it.

Try a Peach Prams :) It has a low handle setting - my toddler pushes it as well as a nice high setting for me! Why has no one else had a Peach??????? IMHO its the best pushchair on the market for both single and in future double modes!!!!!

The Cruz apparently is 100.3cms - so probably not a lot better for Suzie?

Handle height is an odd thing. A pushchair can feel absolutely fine until you start to push it or find a challenging route. If you can't get the handle / pushing correct then the pushchair isn't going to be comfortable and may well hurt you :( But for me a low handle doesn't automatically mean it will cause me a problem. There was one pushchair with a really high handle but whatever setting I tried I just couldn't get comfy with it.

Now can I sqqqquuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! My favourite side by side double pushchair manufacturer is bringing their products to the UK!!! :o I am absolutely delighted. I dont know any more at present nor want to say any more but I know you will revel in my delight and sqqqqqquuuuuueeeeeeeee with me, because if I am happy then its good news! :o

pramsgalore · 10/11/2011 10:08

i can not risk paying out £550 for a pushchair where the handle is too high and could hurt my arms and shoulders, i fear i will not be getting another pushchair, there just are not any really suitable for my needs i like Shock the jane does look very nice, but i am very unsure, ho hum, you never know one may catch my eye when out and about, or on here.

pramsgalore · 10/11/2011 10:14

tiggy, i don't know about the peach, it will be another 2 piece fold i will have to store Hmm

Tiggywunkle · 10/11/2011 10:18

How about a B-Agile or is that too basic for you?

Daisybell1 · 10/11/2011 10:20

Prams, which Jane are you looking at? A friend of mine in the village has one - do you want me to measure the handle height?

suzie38 · 10/11/2011 10:22

I just think the Peach looks too chunky...The back wheels look very strange well how they attach...Plus i'm not keen on the colorways.

hacked off with mountain buggy. they have just extended the duet competition to monday now, grrrrr. i am currently in fourth place.

pramsgalore · 10/11/2011 10:34

thankyou daisybell1 its the jane slalom reverse, but i know the handle height, can she get to the basket easy ie get a bag of shopping in as is, or does she have to 'post' items in.
tiggy yes the B-agile is a bit basic for me, i know shallow Grin
i wonder if monkeys is loving the jane slalom!!!!
suzie i am shorter than you at only 5 foot [i think the last time i was measured, i could have shrunk though with age Grin ] it is so annoying re handle heights.
to be fair i have not seen a peach in rl, may be i need to pop into renhams just to check one out Hmm

Tiggywunkle · 10/11/2011 10:47

I thought the B-Agile would be too basic :)

Go and check a Peach out. At least then you will have played with it :) If you can find a Strawberry to see then do :) Just remember to adjust the Peach - slide the hood up the chassis and lower the footrest down.
There must be something else similar? There aren't many reversible pushchairs that fold with the seat on.

pramsgalore · 10/11/2011 10:51

its not a deal breaker really if it does not pf, i just like to talk to and see dd, i have just been looking for a price for a donkey in mono, but i can not find one, although i suspect they will be over my budget, which is what i got back from the other one.

pramsgalore · 10/11/2011 10:54

yes, looked on bb, over my budget unless they have come down in price, ho hum

Tiggywunkle · 10/11/2011 10:57

I don't see Donkeys ever coming down in price! They are only ever likely to go up....unless someone does a deal...

pramsgalore · 10/11/2011 11:08
Sad the clip things for the buggypod have just arrived, so i can now get dp to fit it to the micralite, quick trip round the block for tiggy and then get rid Smile unless it surprises me but i doubt it
MonkeyJuice · 10/11/2011 11:20

First impressions of the Jane slalom....admittedly I haven't pumped the tyres fully, so not really properly set up...its not very nimble. Sluggish and unresponsive. That could be the saggy tyres though.
I love everything else about it so much though. Ds looks so comfy in it, and has a good view. The fabrics are awesome.
I'm not convinced its seriously up a mountain and through the mire off road though. The front disc brake is exposed to the elements, so will clog with mud or snow. The seat is boarded so not recommended for extreme off road in the way a hammock seat would be. However it will cope with most moderate off road outings but be prepared for a clean up after. Its not going to be quick to unpopper and launder all the fabrics.

Tiggywunkle · 10/11/2011 11:21

Lololol let me know how you get on. I really hoped you would see the positives of the buggypod for me. I haven't found anyine who likes it. Who else bought one? Was it Truth or Honey? Do you like it?

pramsgalore · 10/11/2011 11:24

it was truth and she hated it, i shall try it, but i don't hold out much hope, after reading what truth had to say.
