The Duet is worth a try, but given all the factors you have said re weight, wheelbase, seeing the children etc, I am not sure it solves all your issues. Theres compromises with the Duet, as there are all with all double pushchairs. It's hard to understand your step / front door situation without seeing it. But I am sure something like a Pear or Peach (they have two year warranties) would work well if you tried it out. Theres also the Bebecar one and two with a small wheelbase. With the Donkey you could remove the carrycot, and put the pushchair into Mono mode to go into the house but they are expensive. Good luck with the competition though.

I was not enamoured with MB customer service, after about a months use of my MB the secondary locking device failed. I followed online procedure to get it fixed under warranty and got several automated response emails but no human reply. It's now several months since and as far as they're concerned I have an out of order unusable buggy. They still haven't bothered with me.
I've actually returned it to the store for a refund and won't buy that brand or reccomend it to friends in the future.
Misdee good luck with the competition.
I hope u win but if not you can find I practical affordable solution.
I do love uppababy vista and find it a really good versatile buggy.
I too love slings also. Such a nice snuggly feeling and wraps are so comfy.

misdee · 05/11/2011 11:46

doubles are pants,i know that :) i much prefer singles.

thanks fr the good luck. think i'll need it, someone else has over 400 'like' when i last checked.

regnamechange · 05/11/2011 11:56

Monkeyjuice the MountainBuggy website isn't in the UK you need out'n'about for warranty and human help

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 12:14

There is a UK form on the MB website if you need a repair or a warranty claim mountainbuggy.com/en/repairs-and-warranty

MonkeyJuice · 05/11/2011 13:03

Did the form Tiggy posted, as per the instruction booklet. Got auto reply saying it would be dealt with. It was not. I had to do explanation and photos too. What a faff when it was ignored. Emailed several times also since and though getting auto responses they never contacted me personally. V dissapointed.

suzie, the handle height on my cam is 98cm thats to the top of the handle.
i have just set my cam at 104cm it is high, but its is comfortable to push at that height, infact my posture is better, i am walking more upright.
Hmm, i have just sold another pushchair and i have my refund from another so what do you guys really think i should get, i need a single, with large seat, large basket, prefer over 15kg, [but unless its 20kg + it don't really matter] prefer a larger pushchair ie hate buggys, i can think of the vista and peach, but am unsure of peach due to issues, although to be fair i will be buying from new so will have warrenty

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 13:30

I prefer the Peach, but I also can't fault the Vista really at all. Both are excellent pushchairs - top spec and beautifully executed. I think you need to go for the one you like the look of. You can't buy iCandy except in a retailer, so why not find a shop that has both side by side to try out? I actually think with two, similar type pushchairs, that how it feels in your hand could make the decision for you. I love the chunky Peach handle and the sturdy feeling you get pushing it. The Vista feels lighter somehow but the slimmer chassis gives you that feeling too. Go and play :)

pramsgalore · 05/11/2011 13:40

i can find a shop with the icandy in but not the vista near me, so the vista would have to be bought on line, i may have to go to the icandy stockest near me, but that would have to be next weekend, although i would be able to leave dc's in the car with dp Smile

suzie38 · 05/11/2011 14:44

Thanks for that Prams...Just measured my Cameleon and to the top of the handle it's 102cm high so the generation 2 is higher than generation 1...I was pretty sure my old Cam had a lower handle...The new one must have a minimum height that's on par with the Frog's fixed height, only the Frog was far easier to push which i think is partly down to the air tyres plus DD was smaller and lighter...And the handle just isn't comfortable at all...I'm seriously thinking of keeping my Go now...Had 2 emails of interest from Czech and Lithuania but eBay won't let me sell overseas plus postage with DHL is around £120 anyway...If the Go is stripped down it would fit in my car and it's a lot lighter to handle with the wheels taken off...I'd just use it for big days out to zoos etc etc...Mostly stick with the Nuna in the car.

pramsgalore · 05/11/2011 14:56

so are you going to sell your new cam? i do like the look of your go, i hopefully have someone interested in another of my pushchairs, so fingers crossed that will be another out of the house Smile, i seem to go ages not able to sell a thing and then a couple will sell really close together.

suzie38 · 05/11/2011 15:06

DH rolled his eyes when i said i was thinking of selling it...Luckily i got it cheaper so shouldn't lose out too much...By the time i sell all my big guns it'll cover the money to pave the garden over...Got the money for that but have to pay my old mortgage off as well so think the interior works won't be happening January/February now as i like to have a reasonable amount of savings to fall back on...DH locked 2 savings accounts so he'll have to pay back the house money in 2014!!! His share towards my house so we're on an even keel moneywise.

So now looking like my collection would be Go, Flyer, Flite, Nuna Pepp, 2 Citisports and a Quest, which i could sell but it stays at my parents in case i forget to take the Citisport...I'd like my dad to use the Nuna, but he's set in his ways so would probably complain!!! I think the Nuna would work on compacted snow ok.

OP posts:
suzie38 · 05/11/2011 15:07

Yes i find that...No sales for ages, then a number together.

OP posts:

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 15:32

Lol Prams probably beats me!

suzie38 · 05/11/2011 15:39

I did have 19 in my possession at one point...I've pulled the Go, off eBay while i decide, as it'd be just my luck and someone buys and pays for it even though it's been listed for months...At least the Bugaboos should sell quicker.

OP posts:
pramsgalore · 05/11/2011 15:40

oh no tiggy, thinking you had more was making me feel better Blush

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 15:40

If you discount those on loan (2), those being repaired (1), those on EBay (4), those ready to go on EBay once the BJCM4 arrives (2), then we are left with as our core:
TwinGo
Twinner Twist Duo
Noa
Xtreet
Babyzen
Urbo
Safety 1st Surf
Qtro
There's a chance the baby may finally get into his cot in his own room by Christmas.....

pramsgalore · 05/11/2011 15:42

suzie, that makes me feel better, 19 beats me Grin although until i started wrighting i did not realise how many i had.

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 15:44

The Urbo needs a good play with to decide it's fate but so far I like it - but it's not been out yet!
The Qtro probably won't stay.
A Peach and +one are still on the shopping list and there's the Grrr! BJCM4 Grrr! which is taking forever!!!!

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 15:46

19 was my maximum this year and it could easily be that again Confused. I thought we were much lower than we are.

pramsgalore · 05/11/2011 15:56

haha 14 that beats me tiggy, ah feeling better now Grin

pramsgalore · 05/11/2011 16:03

i might get the streety out of the loft and try that again, although its heavy to get up kerbs. i do need to sell some, will have to put the older ones on ebay at a stupidly cheap starting price just to get rid Hmm
