Mmm - Berry Red's nice. I like the Scandi Living website but it's not particularly cheap.

SwansEatQuince · 01/06/2010 08:19

The chairs were painted really roughly in a Dulux eggshell mix which was pretty close to a Farrow and Ball very pale gray. I sanded them to look weathered then stapled on the polka dot material.

I am also crazy about old white linen - tray cloths and the like and have made cushion covers from some of them.

Things made from vintage fabrics
Lovely recycled stuff
Fantastic stripy deckchair fabric for deckchairs (obviously!) and other stuff
Another scandinavian style website

(can you tell, I have a folder of links called 'Nice stuff to buy' ?)

MrsBun · 01/06/2010 08:28

chairs sound great! Were they loose bottom chairs?

Oh wow to the deck chair one!! Oh the joys! Children need attention - will be back later.

Yes, they were horrible 1980's loose bottomed wooden chairs. They look lovely now and it did not take long to do.

I am hyperventilating at some of these wonderful links. Everyone is smitten with the deck chair one.

Pantaloons, we have just bought a mini 'range'in cream! I love it, but must now redecorate the kitchen to make sure it gets the setting it deserves.
I live in a tiny miner's cottage about 110 years old. In my mind it is a Edwardian villa with spacious rooms!
And I have complete delusions of grandeur about the garden and want to open it to the public for NGS! It is the size of a pocket handkerchief!
At least I know how daft I am

TiggyR · 01/06/2010 12:32

Found it. Sorry, it was Dutch not Swedish. No matter, still a very cute house.

Phew. Hope you like it after all that!

LadyWellian · 01/06/2010 13:55

It's a bit off topic, but has anyone seen any Victorian-stylee wallpaper that I could do my hall with? Looked through 700-odd designs on the Wallpaper Direct website yesterday and the closest I came was this: but it's a bit too pale.

LadyWellian · 01/06/2010 13:56

Hmm... link instructions no good, trying again... www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk/products/harlequin/shell-motif/27383

We may be good with creativity and interiors, but we are rubbish with technology.

JackieNo · 01/06/2010 14:26

LadyWellian - what sorts of colours? Laura Ashley has quite a few that might work. How about
Lyra
Tatton
Lovely gold one
Any of those? They have loads of others too.

Lauriefairycake · 01/06/2010 14:28

chintz porn to buy

gazillions of traditional designs

Lauriefairycake · 01/06/2010 14:32

lady wellian, first link wrong

JackieNo · 01/06/2010 14:34

Gorgeous - if you have £40 a roll to spend .

LadyWellian · 01/06/2010 15:24

Thanks guys. Hall is quite narrow (our place is where the poor Victorians lived, rather than the grand ones, I think!) so big prints a bit of a risk. Will immerse myself in the Cole & Son - I love the designs of theirs I have seen, though I might need to lie down for a bit after looking at the prices.

Tiggy - I feel your pain.
