here

Granted, its a very nice 1930s semi, and Barnes is lovely (although not terribly central) but chuffing nora!

Chuffing nora, indeed!

Have they put a decimal point in the wrong place?!

sharbie · 16/05/2010 12:56

I read somewhere (DM maybe)that the family in Outnumbered couldn't possibly afford the house where they live.In Wandsworth similar properties would be over a £1m. Really?

EdgarAllenPoll · 16/05/2010 12:57

i would say that is substantially nicer than the average 3 bed 1930's semi..

it has three storeys for one thing.

but still...chuffing nora!

ClaireDeLoon · 16/05/2010 12:59

Bloody hell I was expecting £800k - £1m sort of price. Blimey.

expatinscotland · 16/05/2010 13:00

i guess if they can get a sucker to pay that for it.

a fool and hsi money are soon parted.

VengefulKitty · 16/05/2010 13:03

Flaming 'eck!!!

Lauriefairycake · 16/05/2010 13:03

That is a lot nicer than the average semi - they've spent at least 250k on work on that house. Still, I'd have expected 1.5 maybe unless Barnes has suddenly become uber-posho.

I'm drooling over the kitchen.

Did you all clock the farkin' Venture photos in the kitchen

hatesponge · 16/05/2010 13:06

lordy

I mean, its very nice, but REALLY?!

If I had £2.3 mil to spend, I would be expecting to get something more like this for my money - surely Barnes is not that great?!

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/05/2010 13:07

Yes, if I'd seen it without the price tag, I'd have guessed at £1.3 million because I do know that Barnes is gorgeous and the house is absolutely beautiful (inside). It just looks to me like its a million overpriced!

Me

Granted Id change a few things, but it's basically ok....

Why don't you like it riven?

Now... must check last nights Euro...

hatesponge · 16/05/2010 13:14

It doesnt even have a separate dining room! Or a proper family bathroom. Or indeed a garage.

And the (f)utility room is on the top floor.....

OrmRenewed · 16/05/2010 13:17

So glad the 4-bed semi I'm looking at isn't in Barnet!

Is Barnet really that lovely?

OrmRenewed · 16/05/2010 13:18

Ohhhh Barnes not Barnet

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/05/2010 13:21

The last three houses sold on that road were

Detached, November 09 - £1,650,000

Detached, September 08 - £887,000 (prob a smaller modern house, or something that was derelict or auctioned)

Detached, February 08 - £1,426,000

Holy Moly!

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 16/05/2010 13:21

blimey that would be no more than 350K around here I reckon

it is nice, but for that money I'd be wanting a fourth bedroom at least

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/05/2010 13:25

Barnes is on the river so quite attractive see.

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/05/2010 13:25

see

OP posts:
EdgarAllenPoll · 16/05/2010 13:26

i think that would ceiling at £450k round here...(even that would be ambitious as however nice it is, its still a semi) but then that's london for you..

EdgarAllenPoll · 16/05/2010 13:27

bibbety are you using nethouseprices.com to get sold prices? or which site?

FranSanDisco · 16/05/2010 13:29
Confused
Booboobedoo · 16/05/2010 13:30

Barnes is lovely, but crikey. The transport's crap, too.

I grew up in West London, but me and all my mates have bought in South London, as none of us could afford to buy local.

It's still pretty pricey round here imo.

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/05/2010 13:33

Yes, Eggy, nethouseprices.com
