Anybody in Warwick or Leamington Spa

We are in Rugby but having no joy housewise here, we are thinking of looking around to Warwick and Leamington Spa too. Anybody from there with any pointers? (We're after a 3-4 bed detached).

Hey OP, where have you gone?

I'm in Warwick, I think it is a great place to live and work. Parts of Leamington and Warwick can be pretty dire, although only comparatively speaking. It's all pretty calm around here. It depends what you are after really, but I'd say prices are higher than average for the area but obviously some are cheaper than others.

I looked at a lovely house in Napton a couple of years ago. It overlooked the village green but it needed too much work for our shallow pockets to consider.

llareggub · 08/12/2008 21:37

moodlumhohohoodlum · 08/12/2008 21:38

llareggub · 08/12/2008 21:41

Should add, ivykaty, I don't "know" you, haven't seen you, but Warwick is pretty small...sorry to sound stalkerish!

Ivykaty44 · 08/12/2008 21:41

well depends where you walk - I guess but i shall be walking to work in the morning - scrathing head thinking which way shall I walk?

Ivykaty44 · 08/12/2008 21:44

Not my piccy on my profile - its my dd's

I didn't think of you as stokerish
Warwick is very small and I like it good place to live

llareggub · 08/12/2008 21:47

Phew.

I like it too! I moved here from a smallish city (not Cov) and would never go back now.

Hello Rugbeian? Care to share? We keep going round houses and they have scary asking prices and you go in they need complete refurbishment as they are owned by old people who haven't done much work in 10 years and expect the same price if not more than the brand new houses across the street. ARgggh. My partner does a lot of research and most people are trying to sell their back gardens to builders, so it's really hard to avoid buying next door to a potential building site!

sep1712 · 11/12/2008 14:46

jojay was you at toddlers today?

Jojay · 11/12/2008 20:20

No, sorry, I wasn't in the end. DS1 was in such a foul mood as he's got teeth coming through that we didn't make it.

Did you go? I'll try and let you know next time we do.

NarrowboatOwner · 14/12/2008 18:53

I don't think I know anybody here, but - Santaisfeelingfunnypeculiar - I probably wave at your dad as I regularly sail along the Grand Union canal in my little heap. He probably doesn't know me from Adam, but everybody waves at everyone anyway.

Jojay - I go through Napton as well, so will start waving at any likely-looking mechanics!

Jojay · 15/01/2009 20:41

Hey Sep1712 - I think I might know who you are!!

Do you have curly hair and does your daughters name begin with an 'R'???
