Anybody in Warwick or Leamington Spa

We are in Rugby but having no joy housewise here, we are thinking of looking around to Warwick and Leamington Spa too. Anybody from there with any pointers? (We're after a 3-4 bed detached).

No don't think i know you in RL. Congrats with your new ds. I grew up on the Populars... Dad still has the house but rents it out now. Do you do any of the toddler groups?

Jojay · 08/12/2008 20:50

Yes, messy play on Fridays at the Graham Adams centre, and sometimes the church one on a Thursday.

I like the Blue Lias pub and have had some lovely meals at the Duck and Pond,
hello Onepiece.......where are you then?

I am afraid I live in the city that houses the ring road (like to keep fairly anonymous ) Was born in George Eliot Hospital, lived in Bedworth as a tiny baby.

to people in Napton & around - I grew up in Harbury (lovely but shockingly pricy imho - & I now live in Surrey!!) - my dad's canal boat is outside the Blue Lias atm i think

I'll be there this week. I'm the one with bags under my eyes, trying to juggle a toddler and a newborn!! I've got dark shoulder length hair, and Ds's are both mousy / dark too. Come and say hi if you can work out who I am!

I haven't been that much recently as DS1 goes on Wednesdays with the childminder and we do the Friday one - there's only so many days a week that you can sit in the same room! But we're doing something else on Friday this week, so I'll be there on Thursday.

Hi Santa

Jojay · 08/12/2008 21:05

DH is a narrowboat mechanic!! (blowing my cover well and truly now....)

Santaisfeelingfunnypeculiar · 08/12/2008 21:06

NB From having grown up in the area - so this may be 20 years out of date: Warwick (went to school there) was a bit sleepy & obviously swamped with tourists in the summer. Lots of amazing old places, but some rather dull & souless estates too. Not much of a community spirit, ime
Leam is posher and has more going on (Lillington used to be the less posh bit)
Might be worth thinking schools - i know things have moved on there since I left, so won't start on that bit

sep1712 · 08/12/2008 21:08

Whos your childminder? lol at the bags!!
I have had to sit in that room every thursday for the last 9 years!! Welcome to the club.
The wednesday morning one is very good. Would say that though best friend runs it!!

sep1712 · 08/12/2008 21:10

What you have said is all very true santa. Not that taken with warwick or leamington, as a place to live, at all.

Jojay · 08/12/2008 21:10

Blimey, really Jojay - I BET he knows my dad - he has a steam canal boat, and suspect he is a well know local nutter eccentric

There is a lovely 3 bedroomed house for sale Warwick.

It is not far from the Saxon Mill - do you know it? So mear the A46 but far enough away not to hear it, vlose to the M40 (3 miles) and 1.5 miles to warwick town center or leamington town center and on a main bus route. teco down the road.

It is 3 bedroomed, breakfast kitchen I think, nice ish area - Myton school catchment area (a good scholl) or trinity is close RC but take anyone

Not council garage on block and it is 150k

I use to live 200 meters away and found it an excellent area to live in.

Jojay · 08/12/2008 21:14
