DP has had it confirmed that the job he wants is his subject to references, so we need to find a house!

At least 3 bedrooms and a reasonable amount of living space as we have 2 DDs and DSD every other week, also 2 dogs.

Anyone want to help? We are currently in Taunton, so don't know anything about the area really, any advice or tips, reccomendations for agents etc gratefully received

Oh, budget is probably around £2000 pm if we push it

Right, I have emailed every letting agent I can find, am scouring rightmove and findaproperty.co.uk, any other suggestions?

OP posts:
Tutter · 09/07/2008 12:12

make sure you register with primelocation as well as findaproperty - there are some agents that don't feed into both

good question about why to leave - tbh we both felt the time was right to head out to the sticks - at the time i was pg with ds2, and we'd been in london for 12 years

oh yeah, and there were some very suspect neighbours

if were had to move back to london we would def choose the same area though

bratnav · 09/07/2008 12:45

All done, there are a lot of lovely properties out there

It's true, Bratnav. I tried to get Tutter to come to a meet up (as I do) and suddenly she said "erm... actually... I'm moving that day" And she bloody did.

BTW, if you enroll in my kids' school you are forbidden from advertising my MN screenname.

Athene-given some of the stuff that I post about, all I can say is, likewise!

athenenoctua - there are some fabulous schools in whitton

chase bridge
nelson
st endmonds

AtheneNoctua · 09/07/2008 14:15

yes, all I mean was there are some areas that have both fab and not so fab schools. Those areas can be very tricky because you have stiff competition to get in. Whereas an area that has generally good school but not a lot of variation you have a good chance of a good school.

And, I actually I may have spoken out of turn. Apologies if I have. I'm not really an expert on Whitton schools, but I have heard that some are good and some are not.

when are you planning to visit Bratnav?

bratnav · 10/07/2008 20:40

We should be up next weekend for viewings I think. We wanted to wait until we have a child free weekend.

Can't wait, very excited
