Pretty much anything by Boråstapeter, but this one in particular: https://www.wallpaperdirect.com/products/bor-stapeter/rabarber/136488

I have this very one in my living room 😁

Any opinions on these for around the fireplace in a big living room?

My first thought is that these are bedroom wallpapers, hallway at a push.

That’s what I feared. I really like the top right though 😕

I have this in my bedroom but in grey. It’s actually marketed as children’s wallpaper, but I don’t care. You can see the pattern easily in the blue so have linked to that, but in the grey it’s much softer and more subtle. It kind of gently recedes, then if you sit and look at it you always seem to find another tiny detail. I love it now as much as I did when I put it up 5 years ago.

We’re about to have a full house renovation though and I am moving rooms, so it will be gone soon. Currently on the look out for something I love as much for my new room. ( This is it in the grey. )

I've always loved Sandberg wallpapers, we had a few of them over the years in my DC's bedrooms.

JaninaDuszejko · 06/04/2024 12:53

I like the top right wallpaper @Upinthenightagain but I am very fond of Boråstapeter. Not sure why they are considered by some a bedroom or hallway wallpaper but not a sitting room wallpaper, I think a floral wallpaper can work anywhere.

Here's the Thibaut. The fabric is embroidered.

I've looked this up and found a colourway I love, this but the price is a bit high for such a simple design!

I have this Cole and son pattern in my bedroom. It’s really calming. It’s a lovely warm grey so it reads more beige in our south and west facing room.

I've always loved this paper but never found quite the right colour for me. Now we've got a 60's retro vibe it would be perfect.

PatsyStonesBeehive · 06/04/2024 13:21

I love this one and i'm toying with putting it in my living room. We're doing a whole house refurb so this thread might bankrupt me.

I also have my eye on the pip studio wallpapers. It's just too damn hard to choose, though!

I've always loved Sandberg wallpapers, we had a few of them over the years in my DC's bedrooms.

I’ve been down a massive wallpaper rabbit hole since this thread started and now have far to many options, but am leaning towards another Sandberg for my new room.

I have also been tempted to put pale pink flamingo paper in the family bathroom, but have sent for multiple samples to choose which one.

Monica Misty Blue - Wallpaper | Sandberg Wallpaper

The pattern is a collaboration with artist Monica Andoff, who with experimental plant dyeing on paper created the basis for this dreamy expression.

I've lost the whole of my morning browsing now! Came across a site with many of the wallpapers mentioned here (not just the 70's, site name is misleading)
https://www.wallpaperfromthe70s.com/

oh my, this website is amazing. There’s many many hours of mine gone.

@Norhymeorreason Amazon of all places

We put this on our son's nursery, one wall and the other's painted duck egg. It really works. For anyone thinking, as if, to the 200 quid rolls of paper (as I do with a toddler, dog and cat in the house) I've always managed to find cheaper versions of the ideas I've loved. I'm glad we went down this route for the nursery as it'll need to be changed soon to accommodate a little boy's changing tastes.

Do people really pay that much btw? What are the benefits of a £200 roll? Asking for maybe when we have money and a house with less destructive residents.

We've got this in our hallway/landing/stairs. It never ceases to make me happy.

I have this too! I accidentally bought double the amount which was annoying at the time but now we’ve moved house so I can do another room!

Ooh thank you, this is fascinating (listening now)

I was watching Kin of BBC a few months ago and really liked the wallpaper in on of the family's homes, finally managed to track it down:

https://www.worldofwallpaper.com/theme/tropical/amazon-wallpaper-black-blue-grandeco-jf2202.html?gadsource=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8uLlqtuehQMV3ZhQBh20RgioEAQYAyABEgKcNvDD_BwE

It's in the master bedroom in my house, but just on three walls of a large L shape room with dual aspect windows, so it's not too dark. The colours (especially the blue on the birds) are really striking.
