This house is absolutely fascinating

It looks to me as if it's been a loving family home and the owner has perhaps just got too old to keep on top of it. So much stuff but the swing in the garden and photos on the walls make me feel so sad for this place now.

Among 1000 other things, the calor gas canister at the top of the stairs. What is going on? Confused

HelpMeBeABetterPersn · 24/06/2021 18:19

Is the ceiling wallpapered in the bedrooms?

WallaceinAnderland · 24/06/2021 18:19

It's like a really old fashioned, time capsule and then you get to the room with all the computers Confused

They certainly have a love for rugs!

Aquamarine1029 · 24/06/2021 18:25

It's going to need a LOT of work.

catsareme14 · 24/06/2021 18:27

I love it , as you say ,clearly a much loved family home with the grandchildren's drawings still on display . Reminds me of an elderly lady that I visit . The house is full of clutter but she seems to believe that if it's in a box or covered with a cloth it becomes invisible!

PennyRoyal · 24/06/2021 18:28

I wish I had the cash to buy it and refurbish throughout. Such big rooms and a fab setting. It could be amazing.

Saucery · 24/06/2021 18:29

There will be grandchildren with lovely memories of there, I’m sure!
Does need a lot of work but could be amazing when it’s done.

Paddingtonthebear · 24/06/2021 18:32

Those computer screens are on aren’t they? Someone still living there

FindingMeno · 24/06/2021 18:35

It's lovely, and I think whoever lives there would be so interesting.

Oblomov21 · 24/06/2021 18:36

It would cost £1000's to do up. Money pit!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/06/2021 18:36

Love that. I could live there, and do it up gradually (if had that sort of cash) I don't. First job would have to be that blue bathroom though. Many rooms look liveable though, just some of the bedrooms with damp ceilings? Or is it all the bedrooms.

Karcheer · 24/06/2021 18:39

It all makes sense and old persons home and then... there are all the computers... what's that all about!

kezziethegingercat · 24/06/2021 18:40

It's gorgeous. Someone could make it look amazing.

Immaculatemisconception · 24/06/2021 18:40

I love it. It needs a lot spending on it but you could make it a fantastic home.

BrennieGirl · 24/06/2021 18:43

I don't think I've ever seen a blue bathroom suite before.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 24/06/2021 18:44

I saw a massive crack in the wall... I would want it checked structurally.

It could be lovely.

MagentaRocks · 24/06/2021 18:44

It is a beautiful house. The fireplaces are amazing. I bet there would be a lot of amazing finds in there as it is done up. I hope someone buys it and restores it as it should be.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 24/06/2021 18:45

Look at the price, that will be snapped up, I just hope the buyer is sympathetic. It’s gonna be a fantastic family home (I hope)

StCharlotte · 24/06/2021 18:47

Sooo much potential! I think it will be very loved in the future as well as the past.

idontlikealdi · 24/06/2021 18:49

It's got massive potential. It could be and probably was truly stunning.

idontlikealdi · 24/06/2021 18:50

@BrennieGirl

I don't think I've ever seen a blue bathroom suite before.
My aunty who is oh so trendy, but nearly 90 has blue upstairs, and avocado downstairs. It's quite something!
CarrieMoonbeams · 24/06/2021 18:50

Love the wallpaper in the living room.

My God, DH and I would love that house - a field for our dogs to play in, room for chickens, and barns that he could fill with random crap!

Purplewithred · 24/06/2021 18:50

Oh I so want it! Structurally it will be fine, doubtless needs loads of work on the roof and maybe a bit of propping up here or there and a damp course wouldn’t go astray, and complete rewire and replumb and a few walls relocated, and god knows how much spent on the ‘garden’. But truly fabulous, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

BearOfEasttown · 24/06/2021 18:52

I love it. Grin

Even though it's a bit quirky/messy/lived in/dated etc.... it is a bargain for half a mil! Lotsa land too. OMG it's gorgeous. Smile
