Only a few posts left on the first thread of 2019, so here's a new one to get us started.

Still waiting for our delivery. 😢 They’ve phoned to say they are stuck in traffic.

At least they are on the road. Hope they aren't too late. What unit did you get? The corner one?

Yes we had a corner one. 25 items in all for one unit!

It arrived at 10:25.

@shrugs it’s going to be a cracker!! We’re the same, we’re almost doubling the size of our house and I look at the side plot and think ‘how much could I get for that’

Apparently DIY Kitchens have packed biscuits and tea bags for the kitchen fitters! How nice is that?

Tea and biscuits is very considerate of them. Glad the corner unit arrived shrugs. Better late than never I guess!

Oh I went out before we left and bought loads of teabags, coffee and a heap of biscuits. Dh was moaning as he says we are paying them plenty... my argument was is nice to be nice

Oh I’m glad that the DIYK kitchens have arrived! Hope it goes smoothly for the install, can’t wait for photos.
Well, loft windows are in, everything is boarded and ready for the plasterer to start next week. And the kitchen build team have delivered a whole load of equipment ready to start digging foundations on Monday!! 😱

Obligatory loft photos, I am so tempted to take a camping chair up there with a glass of wine. Except I’ve packed all the wine glasses and we’ve run out of wine 🙄

@WorrisomeHeart loft is looking great. We've also packed up too much stuff and couldn't find scissors earlier. Wine glasses are much more essential!

@WorrisomeHeart they're back tomorrow and it should be done apparently. The utility room still needs doing but it needs painting and flooring first.

I love the kitchen TheFatberg. Worrisomeheart the loft room is looking good as well.

@WhereDoesThisToiletGo it's laminate, I did worry it wouldn't look that good but I really like it. We had to get around 60m² for the downstairs, so anything else would have been beyond the budget.

I'm going for laminate too... the budget does not allow for anything else!

Finally decided on tiles for the en-suite shower. I’m thinking maybe a splashback behind the sink of the decorative one as well? What do you think?

Meant to say the majority of the shower walls will be the blue metro, the decorative one will only be in the shelf alcove.

Very nice! I'm thinking of this sort of tile as flooring for my bathroom...

I really like that style of tiles.

@WorrisomeHeart Lovely shades of blue in that tile. Is that the alcove they are going in or it that being changed?

Our kitchen fitters have advised against Alusplash as they said it would be difficult to fit around the extractor fan because of the size, and they also thought it would draw attention away from the quartz worktop. So now we need to look for tiles.
