What would you do to make my lounge more interesting? It just seems too blocky, I'm really hoping I can just add accessories rather than decorate .

I would lose the curtains, cushions and rugs and lamp. Have cushions but non-catchy and in trendier shapes/fabrics.

Could you move the sofa forward and have a slim console table or ledge? Look on Pinterest. Then you could have 2 lamps (neutral colour base) and a bit of greenery. Succulents are very trendy.

A big bold print would be good, or a picture ledge with lots of frames.

I like the idea of a lamp behind the sofa , I'll have to get someone to help me bring it forward a bit, bloody thing weighs a ton !

Texture ! Yes that's what's missing- so I'll have a hunt for cushions in a non 'flat' material.

Would the canvas I posted earlier go ?

I have a floor lamp (not shown in my photo) , I make lampshades as a hobby so could find some nice material and make a new shade.

If you like them I'd suggest a couple of houseplants to draw the eye/soften the angles a bit? Of course, that depends on how well your lovely cat will treat them! Smile

Oddcat · 08/04/2018 18:20

The cat has previous for eating house plants !

Mine uses them as litter trays. No houseplants here anymore ☹️

Ooooh! Looks ace oddcat!! Are you pleased?

Oddcat · 03/06/2018 16:45

Thankyou, it's better than it was , I wasn't sure at first but it's growing on me. If I ever win the lottery, I'm getting an interior designer in !

Ohh definitely better. I quite like it

Oddcat · 03/06/2018 17:15

Thankyou , I so wish I could put colours together , my friends house is a mass of different colours but it all seems to 'go' somehow.

Oh you can! Just put colours you like together, it will be fine! If I'm doubt, look at a colour wheel.
It looks great!

New look is fab. How about a big palm at the end of the sofa. It will tone with the yellow/ green and soften the edges.

Badgerandfox · 03/06/2018 20:13

You're updated pic looks fab, really like it.
