Fingers crossed - except my solicitor doesn't think they will.

Spickle · 10/06/2016 14:32

Well, if they don't, reduce your offer and extend in two years time.

Skittlesss · 10/06/2016 14:52

Well it look like they still haven't had the mortgage offer. Think something is wrong.

We are booking to view another house. Does anyone know if we will have to apply from the start for a mortgage or if our bank will just reassess based on what they already have?

kirinm · 10/06/2016 17:09

How long as it been?

We are still waiting for our formal offer and I think it was approved "subject to valuation" close to a month ago.

Skittlesss · 10/06/2016 17:21

Kirinm - a few days short of 3 months since they first applied. Apparently got approved 3 weeks ago.

kirinm · 10/06/2016 20:15

Oh shit that's a long time. I'm assuming your solicitor has been chasing it up?

Skittlesss · 10/06/2016 22:02

Yep our solicitor has been chasing them, the estate agent has been chasing also. This is why we think something isn't quite right. :(

kirinm · 13/06/2016 13:27

Anyone heard anything about their purchases today? It's all quiet here. Mortgage company still haven't sent the offer and I'm rapidly losing interest so can't be bothered to chase anyone.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 13/06/2016 13:46

Hi Kirin and everyone Brew we heard today that 3 of our 4 searches are back so the solicitor is going to send us fixtures and fittings plus any queries so far to have a look at.

It's frustrating to think we could have been exchanging now if we hadn't had the silly delay with the draft contract and all the drama with the solicitors, but there we are. I took a few days to go away with family and just not think about it, and it has really helped. Sorry for everyone else going through delays Flowers

whois · 13/06/2016 14:01

Mortgage company still haven't sent the offer and I'm rapidly losing interest so can't be bothered to chase anyone.

If you are feeling like that - might be worth playing hard ball and telling the EA that if lease extnesion isn't sorted at the vendors expense (and the application made in [1] week) - you are pulling out.

Might focus their mind! What with the soon to be lack of rental income.

needresolution · 13/06/2016 14:04

Well the mortgage valuation for someone in my chain is happening today so fingers crossed they get their mortgage offer then everyone can pull their fingers out and get exchanged!!

needresolution · 13/06/2016 14:06

Really need this to go though as rapidly losing the will to live :(
Fingers crossed for everyone else

Skittlesss · 13/06/2016 15:51

Finally some good news - their offer is in and they are suggesting 30th for completion :)

PotatosMum · 13/06/2016 16:01

Heard back from my buyers and it looks like their application to the housing association should be fine. Hopefully get that approval this week.

Still not heard about our mortgage. I'm starting to go slightly mad with the anxiety of it all. There's no reason the shouldn't approve us at this point but I'm still terrified. I just want it to be all done ant approved before I lose my mind Sad

coolpatterngirl · 13/06/2016 17:16

How long are you having to wait for mortgage approvals?

PotatosMum · 13/06/2016 17:58

Mine is on 5 weeks but it hasn't been plain sailing Confused

kirinm · 13/06/2016 18:10

Our valuation was nearly 2 weeks ago and we are still waiting. Our actual application was made over a month ago now.

coolpatterngirl · 13/06/2016 18:40

Crazy! So I guess we just proceed with the conveyancing and hope the mortgage doesn't get declined? Tis nail biting times.

Skittlesss · 13/06/2016 19:53

Cool - we had one in less than 3 weeks. Our vendors took 3 months - luckily they commissioned searches etc so now it's come through they are ready to go.

TitsDown · 13/06/2016 22:00

Yay skittlesss - that's great news.

potatos - good progress at least.

cool - I think ours took about a month in the end (could have been 2.5 weeks but was held up by my employer's delay in returning a reference form)

We're still waiting for solicitor to submit a report to lender notifying them that there's no access rights from the road (because it's private). Shouldn't stop them lending but then they'll need to process it which will take at least a week. twiddles thumbs

We did correspond with the vendors today (via EA) regarding some items they were disposing of and wanted to know if we wanted (gratis) and we did, so that's good. Also reassures me that they're fully geared up for their move pending the end of the interminable legal process.

Might chase the sol tomorrow for want of something to occupy me.

DustyBottoms · 13/06/2016 22:58

Can I join you?

Just found out our mortgage application has been selected at Random by the building society to be checked by head office and scrutinised even more. It's been six weeks already, we've only just found this out. now they are asking for information from my next payslip which is not due till the end of the month. Gah

kirinm · 14/06/2016 09:28

Fingers crossed Dusty. I'm giving up. My enthusiasm has vanished. DP is now suggesting we wait until the results of the referendum before pushing as things could go mental in the financial market afterwards. Not sure if he's serious, I doubt it Hmm

DustyBottoms · 14/06/2016 09:55

I know how you feel, I could honestly tell the bank just to stick it! Our vendors can't find anywhere to move to, presumably because of the referendum. It's been a five year haul to get this far and I've had enough.

Could also have something to do with being home alone all week with a toddler with chicken pox and it's due to chuck it down all week...

needresolution · 14/06/2016 10:38

My sol has chased this morning (surprisingly) the mortgage valuation was supposed to have been done yesterday and an offer is imminent - lets hope it in the post ... argh! all my kids go on about is when we getting the house lol

TitsDown · 14/06/2016 11:08

kirin that sucks. It's horrible that any joy has been sucked out of the move for
