Ruby I'd happily go with any date but our buyers are basically saying they absolutely won't move before end July and our sellers are saying they absolutely can't move any later than next week and so we are stuck in the middle being flexible! I'm hoping one or the other of them will back down tomorrow.

Bimba too right, we are all fed up!

monkeytennismum · 02/07/2013 06:28

Jayne - I think this is where the solicitors and EAs earn their money by negotiating! They won't want the chain to fall through any more than you. Good luck on agreeing a date.

PastaBeeandCheese · 02/07/2013 06:31

Totally agree. You are being flexible over date so I'd tell the EA to sort it out.

Jaynebxl · 02/07/2013 06:45

Our EA is great so hopefully she can sort it today ... And then maybe apply for a job in a peace-keeping role in some war situation!

Thanks me too!

AugustaProdworthy · 02/07/2013 12:40

I was on the last thread....was confident we would have moved before that got to 300 posts. More fool me,
I'm still here.
Please please can someone just buy my house!
Please!

doglover · 02/07/2013 12:48

I remember you name, AP. I'm still here, too. House sale / purchase is still progressing v.e.r.y slowly for us.

hinkyhonk · 02/07/2013 15:02

removal dudes coming tomorrow at 8 am to start packing but have no idea how it is all going to work... i mean how do i feed the children breakfast the next day before we move - do i need to siphen off some plates etc today so there will be some available? what about washing up liquid - are they going to pack that too tomorrow? will they wait for us to quickly finish hoovering the house before they pack up and move off as i'm not sure the hoover will fit in our car with the rest of our stuff..... my head is spinning - much sympathy to all still waiting for movement. keep plugging on

ghosteditor · 02/07/2013 18:30

Good luck hinky!

Well, the planning permission buyer has formally given up on our house Hmm.

We had a surprise second viewing from someone who viewed ages ago booked - they're coming tomorrow, so who knows what's happening there!

wonkylegs · 02/07/2013 18:48

Hinky put together a box of stuff for breakfast/last minute tidy/kettle/tea/wine etc that you can keep to one side.
If you want to make it dead easy disposable plates are good then you don't need to worry about washing up.

bimbabirba · 02/07/2013 19:11

We've exchanged!! Grin I can't believe it still!
In the end our vendor agreed to break the chain and risk going into rented. Bless her heart!

doglover · 02/07/2013 19:22

Fantastic news! :)

ghosteditor · 02/07/2013 20:13

Bim that's great!

wonkylegs · 02/07/2013 23:02

Great news & bet that's a huge relief.

bimbabirba · 02/07/2013 23:04

Would it be weird if I baked a cake and I dropped it off with a thank you card? I feel truly grateful to her!

Turnipinatutu · 02/07/2013 23:14

I think that would be a lovely thing to do.

Jaynebxl · 02/07/2013 23:54

Great news bimba. We didn't exchange today :-(

ghosteditor · 03/07/2013 13:27

Pleas give me a boot up the bum - we have a second viewing tonight at 5.30pm (terrible time with a toddler to feed and get to bed). I just can't muster the energy to clean up to my unusual sparkly standard - so sick of getting my hopes up!

We're also having a call from our mortgage vendor to deal with the extraordinary cock ups they've made in the last few weeks.

ghosteditor · 03/07/2013 13:28

How's the packing going hinky?

hinkyhonk · 03/07/2013 15:56

Seems to be going well...I've left them to it and getting ny hair done....!

PastaBeeandCheese · 03/07/2013 16:30

we've got a second viewing tomorrow. I've had the toddler polishing. At one point she was pushing glass cleaner around in her toy pushchair.

Going to trap her in her chair now with foodso I can iron my posh bed linen set.

Good luck! Hope it goes well.

ghosteditor · 03/07/2013 17:54

Good luck pastabee! We're having a second viewing now and we have a first viewing booked for tomorrow - the first time we've had the benefit of the house still being clean!

Jaynebxl · 03/07/2013 18:02

We exchanged! Woo hoo!
