a waiting thread... for impatient people! what are you waiting for?

We are waiting for our valuer to decide whether to give us a mortgage for a property which doesnt have subsidence, but he thought did. We made the offer in March, subsidence was expected immediately, and we have commissioned reports which show no problem, and estimates for builders to repair cracks. Apparently he now wants our estimate for £800 of work broken down into more detail. Our mortgage providers are narked off as well waiting for him. Jobsworth ... rant rant. Our sellers want to put the house back on the market as it is taking so long, our buyers are losing patience, and my baby will be popping out in the removals van at this rate.

There are a few waiting threads on here tonight, so I thought we could share in our impatience together. What are you waiting for?

Waiting for the mortgage valuation and homebuyer's report for the house I'm buying. Sellers are getting impatient. I'm getting stressed.

doglover · 05/06/2013 21:55

Waiting for our buyers to have their Homebuyers survey - pencilled in for 2 weeks time. Getting VERY stressed!!

bettybyebye · 05/06/2013 22:00

Waiting for our agreement in principle to be turned into an offer. Offer on house was accepted last week, all paperwork sent off, solicitor appointed. Lots of pressure from EA to know when surveys will be carried out...the vendors quite far down the road with their purchase as thy had previously agreed a sale which fell through - don't think my nerves can take much more of this!

TerrysNo2 · 05/06/2013 22:23

I'm waiting for a new buyer after our last one pulled out 2 wills before exchange. come on house, sell sell sell!

Jaynebxl · 05/06/2013 22:58

Waiting for our sellers' seller to shift her bum and move out!

BimbaBirba · 05/06/2013 23:27

Waiting for our buyers' mortgage offer to come through and for the buyers' solicitor to ask questions to our solicitor.
Waiting for the vendor's solicitor to answer the pedantic questions posed by our solicitor.
I just couldn't care less about double glazing certificates, boiler servicing and rights of way! Do you think I can tell my solicitor that?

OccamsRaiser · 06/06/2013 03:26

Waiting for my buyer to organise his finance and let me know timeframes... makes it very difficult to do much as I will need to either fly back from Oz to sort out the last things before sale or find someone in the UK to do it if the timings are short.

Very frustrating as the process over here is so different - as soon as you make an offer, you're expected to stump up the deposit (c.10%) and then have about 6 weeks in which the sale goes through or you forfeit the money!

rumbelina · 06/06/2013 05:41

Waiting for our buyer to find a new mortgage as his provider decided on Tuesday they are not going to lend. Will give him 2 weeks to get things moving then put back on market I think.

It's a right pain waiting for other people. I really struggle with the lack of control.

Waiting to complete. Small issue of a removal company to sort out before then though. I am On It Grin.

flow4 · 06/06/2013 07:51

Waiting to see whether unregulated building works can be sorted...

Eastpoint · 06/06/2013 08:07

Waiting for the vendor to decide whether our offer of asking price is right. If we are first to offer & offering what they want why don't they just say yes. It isn't a bargain.

Erlack · 06/06/2013 08:37

Waiting to instruct an up to date valuation for the house we are buying to satisfy lenders- but can't do that yet because it has to be within 3 months of entry date, which is not until end of September (on paper but could be earlier). Waiting to move out of our property and into limbo land while we wait to get into the new house. Which requires waiting for the sellers to finish building their new house. Waiting to hear back from my solicitor to see if there are any issues with the documents needed to register the title. Zzzzz...

rovercat · 06/06/2013 09:25

Waiting for my new shower cubicle to be delivered! Have had 3 delivery dates, all which have been cancelled at 5pm the night before and am seriously fed up. Not as bad as those of you waiting to move and I know there are far worst things going on i the world, but I'd really like my shower now.

PigletJohn · 06/06/2013 09:58

Waiting until I can find the energy to finish off one or two little jobs....

BimbaBirba · 06/06/2013 15:17

Do you think I could just tell my solicitor to cut the crap and get us the house? No seriously, I couldn't care less about old rights of way that no one has enforced in 80 years, double glazing certificates, etc etc etc. I just WANT THE HOUSE

BearsLikeMarmalade · 06/06/2013 15:22

To hear a response to an offer we put in two weeks ago. Someone else interested so it seems we're waiting for their builder to hurry up with a quote (I started a thread about this).

It's all very irritating....

BabyMogwai · 06/06/2013 15:52

Waiting for solicitors to do fund/ money laundering checks so we can pay our deposit

claracluck71 · 06/06/2013 16:16

Waiting for our appointment to sort our new mortgage out. We accepted an offer on our house last Wednesday, and our buyers decided on their buyer (they had four parties interested!) on Tuesday, which completes the chain. Will start chasing for the paperwork from our solicitor next week. As much as I hate them, I want to fill in some forms!

Just want to get on with it now and get in to our new house whilst there is still the possibility of some decent weather Smile.

Trills · 06/06/2013 16:20

I am waiting for:
a lottery win
some shares to go up in value
a long time while I save slowly
(any of the above will do)

so that we can approach the owners of the house we rent and see if they will let us buy it

(this thread is in Property so I assumed it was only property-related waiting that was allowed)

wonkylegs · 06/06/2013 16:25

Waiting for the final LA search so we can exchange.... Waiting for the end of term so we can complete.
We are relocating out of the area so didn't want to pull DS out of school until the end of term. We got an offer much quicker than expected so everythings sped up except the completion date. Thankfully the timing works for everybody in our short chain.

doglover · 06/06/2013 16:53

We are now (also) waiting for our buyers to have their 2002 building works signed off by the Building Inspector Angry . I've just arrived home to find a letter from our solicitor telling us this news which is rather frustrating! Because the vendors don't appear to be the most reasonable people, I can only pray that they're prepared to do this .......................

BimbaBirba · 06/06/2013 17:18

How does that work dogclover?
I might well have that problem soon with the house we're buying

doglover · 06/06/2013 17:25

I have no idea, BB!! I wish I knew! I assume that our solicitors will get in touch with theirs to specify what needs to be done. I think the Building Inspector will then need to visit the property and 'sign off' any work. Grrrrr Confused
