a waiting thread... for impatient people! what are you waiting for?

We are waiting for our valuer to decide whether to give us a mortgage for a property which doesnt have subsidence, but he thought did. We made the offer in March, subsidence was expected immediately, and we have commissioned reports which show no problem, and estimates for builders to repair cracks. Apparently he now wants our estimate for £800 of work broken down into more detail. Our mortgage providers are narked off as well waiting for him. Jobsworth ... rant rant. Our sellers want to put the house back on the market as it is taking so long, our buyers are losing patience, and my baby will be popping out in the removals van at this rate.

There are a few waiting threads on here tonight, so I thought we could share in our impatience together. What are you waiting for?

The problem is, if the work hasn't been done properly, who pays for it to be corrected etc?

One of the issues raised was a door from the garage which we don't actually want to retain. So confusing ...........

What an incredible pain in the butt this sort of thing is! Does it really matter? What if you tell your solicitor to just accept what they have provided? I think I'll do that

poocatcherchampion · 06/06/2013 21:34

well in a strange twist wed are now waiting for the morning so we can offer on a better house we have seen today and pull out of the one that's been stressing us out! no one has their waiting resolved yet... ...

Waiting to find another buyer for my house (as the first one lost her patience while waiting for me to find a house to buy and pulled out) and offer on a house I viewed yesterday...

groovejet · 07/06/2013 12:44

Waiting for our vendor to sort out her mortgage.

Signed our papers a couple of weeks ago, our purchaser signed theirs this week so everyone is waiting on vendors to get everything sorted, hopefully end of next week we maybe able to exchange, just want it all to be finished now.

WireCat · 10/06/2013 17:12

I am waiting to hear back from the EA if our offer on a house has been accepted or declined. Would like to hear back before end of the working day.

Offer has been on since 0915 this morning.

maybemyrtle · 10/06/2013 17:26

Waiting for DP to get back from work so we can decide on our final offer on the house we want. Then a whole load of new waiting starts!

ItsAllTLAsToMe · 10/06/2013 20:54

Oh God, has anything actually happened for anyone yet?

I'm soooooooooooooooo bored of waiting to complete. I feel like a petulant child. And I have a sore throat too.

doglover · 10/06/2013 21:02

Still waiting for buyers survey to be done - next week. Vendors have contacted Building Control to get a Building Inspector to visit, advise on outstanding works and ultimately get the work signed off. So, so hoping that things aren't unduly delayed ....................

I am not patient.

I hope I hear about my offer today.

Tbh, I thought they'd turn it down flat.

TerrysNo2 · 11/06/2013 07:58

we are waiting to see if we get another offer today, something we can actually afford to accept!

fingers crossed for us and everyone else in The Waiting Place. Dr Seuss was right, it's not for us! Smile

californiaburrito · 11/06/2013 08:57

Oh, great thread! I'm waiting to put our house on the market. It has an ongoing damp problem in one wall which needs to be fixed and it has taken me two months to sort out someone to do the job. Work started last week and I'm currently living in the upstairs with two ill kids.

But, hopefully, the replastering should be done today. And then I've got to wait for the plaster to dry, and then wait for the paint to dry, and then I have all the various house selling/buying- can you make this process any more difficult/complicated- craziness that the rest of you are in the midst of to look forward to.

So I'll pass around some Biscuit because my kitchen is covered in a fine layer of plaster dust so I can't manage real biscuits and hope for minor victories today.

Mimmit · 11/06/2013 12:01

Still waiting, and hoping, to move. So far it has been 8 months and I don't think my patience will stretch much more!
Hope that some of you have had progress and that no one has too much longer to wait.
