Yes ruby. Just wondering if I can finance it (probably not as 6* salary loans are out of fashion!).

My lovely vendor has had a long chat with the surveyor and he will have scraped off all the old product on the timbers by the end of the weekend. The surveyor is revisiting on Monday and will resubmit his report. Hopefully the Nationwide will then unsuspend my application.

5 boxes packed today!

Yes ruby. I googled bridging loans but the costs looked scary and I ran away.

Things are going really slow for us here. We had hoped to be exchanging by now but our sellers lost their second house. Now they have found a third house to buy, which is great but it means all the searches and everything start all over again. So far we and our buyers have been pretty patient but today we got an email from our EA to say that our buyers are getting tetchy and want to complete by mid may. We would love that but I just can't see it happening. Aargh!

trikken · 25/04/2013 22:25

doglover thats awful. Ours offered 25 under our lowest amount we could take on tues eve. They havent come back with another offer.

alwayslateforwork · 26/04/2013 03:17

Dog, our buyers first offered 49k under asking and I felt exactly the same.

However, they upped their game and we accepted. Don't give up on them entirely. You just never know. The EA was the same. She was mortified. But she said at the time 'stranger things have happened'. They came back and viewed twice more and we eventually agreed a price. (Obv still well below, but not that much)

CuddyMum · 26/04/2013 08:10

Our buyers offered £45k under then disappeared for 5 months and upped their offer - still £22k below but we accepted. We went in at £35k under on the property we are buying and agreed a price £24k under which mentally makes us feel better :)

Nothing.
Not a sniff of a viewer.
Bit pissed off.
EA said he had people lined up.
The lying cock. Angry

wonkylegs · 26/04/2013 18:10

Fingers crossed for those of you waiting for viewers
Cuddy - hope that's the last hiccup for you.
Our offer on a property was accepted this afternoon but we need to discuss dates with them tomorrow as this is critical for both sides.
We've found something that is a slightly bigger version of what we've got now but needing some modernisation - thankfully at a price that allows us to do new windows, timber sash double glazing(it's in a conservation area), new roof, new kitchen and bathrooms and a bit of extension. It will be a stunning home when we've finished with it fingers crossed.
Survey on our house has been done and our sale is so far progressing ok. I'm excited but sleeping terribly worrying about all the what ifs Sad

WireCatWhore · 26/04/2013 18:13

Good luck Wonkylegs.

CuddyMum · 26/04/2013 20:41

Good luck Wonky! Sorry Wirecat :(

Updated Nationwide today as per the surveyors request - the call centre agent thought the sale had fallen through!! I had to explain the whole situation again and after being put on hold lots of times was told that my vendor had to fax them to confirm everything! I said who the hell even faxes any more. Luckily the vendor and agent are brilliant and sorted this out within half an hour so we will see what happens on Monday! I had to collect two bits of post from my vendor this evening which turned out to be paperwork from the new school. It was nice to see my house and the vendors again. Meanwhile, I have emailed my local Nationwide mortgage lady to complain and see if there's any chance that she can help!

Phew, CM! This whole moving process is just so utterly horrendous Sad. Let's hope we all have some positive news / viewings / offers this weekend!! Smile

CuddyMum · 26/04/2013 21:38

Have had takeaway curry and G&T and I'm going to forget about everything until Monday afternoon :)

Faxing is still used in legal transactions and contract law as a legally recognised form of communication. Whereas emails don't have a legal recognition which is why they will have asked for a fax. It sounds daft but is actually quite common.
They really seem to be putting you through it Cuddy. Glad they got it sorted for you. Enjoy the G & T

alwayslateforwork · 27/04/2013 04:26

Good luck for the weekend, everyone!

Haven't heard about any viewings this weekend Sad .

CuddyMum · 27/04/2013 16:38

Oh Dog - is it worth revising the price slightly? We had weeks without viewings and it is soul destroying.

OP posts:
doglover · 27/04/2013 16:47

We've dropped the asking price yesterday but my dh is still holding out for what I feel is an unrealistic price. I keep saying that we could be in the same position in 6 months time but the message isn't yet hitting home for him. I'll keep whittling away .......................
