Why would you want you DH/DP to hear you going to the loo? I just don't get itConfused

"I don't want the stench of dh's shite wafting through the bedroom."

I don't get why this is such a big issue. The answer is open the bathroom window and close the door between the bedroom and en-suite. It isn't difficult.

i have one and love mine as our bedroom is our refuge from the family/world. it means our family bathroom is the family bathroom, bath full of toys, matey bubble bath etc. wiht a decent boiler you can run washing machine bath and shower at the same time. that said i wouldnt have one if i needed the space.

i also find it very amusing that some posters see ensuites as a class statement of some sort "bourgeois" "try hardy".... i mean really...

We can run a bath and a shower simultaneously with our boiler, but we don't have a combi boiler and don't ever intend to get one.

I love en-suite bathrooms, but I think loos should be separate. Fortunately, in our apartment, the bathrooms are en-suite and the loos aren't!

Herhonesty - I quite agree! Fancy these working class people getting all uppity and trying to ape the monied - sooo beyond the pale. Obviously the proper old money positively REVEL in the freezing antiquated facilities they have inhereited...
