Hi folks,

Welcome to the best place to be for Amazon Prime day deals. Though Prime Day doesn't officially start until midday on the 16th (of July), Amazon are still running great deals everyday so be sure to check out this thread to keep up to date.

Let us know what you're looking for and we will do our best to hunt down a great deal. As always, feel free to share any crackers you spot yourself, too!

You do need to be a Prime member to take part, but there is a 30 day free trial (sign up here) if you don’t fancy paying the full membership fee. Remember, if you don’t want to pay for Prime after the event, you can follow our handy guide on how to cancel - here.

To get things started, have a read of the Official Prime Day page - here.

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

@arranfan glad you like them!

@73kittycat73 most of the deals are on a 36 hour countdown (from 12 pm today until midnight tomorrow) but some 'Lightning deals' do have a shorter window. It's pretty frantic but hopefully this thread will help you keep track of the best deals - is there anything particular you're looking for?

AliceDMumsnet · 16/07/2018 16:26

@areyouactuallykidding thanks for flagging this. We usually include an affiliate link disclaimer on our threads but we dropped the ball here. We'll add one to the OP now - sorry folks.

AliceDMumsnet · 16/07/2018 16:42

@HildaOgdensFlyingDucks we haven't spotted much in the way of baby toys and clothes yet either, it's mainly prams and car seats so far - but we'll keep our eyes peeled.

In the meantime, this Mamas & Papas Universal Highchair Play Tray is now £14.24 (was £19) and you can get a set of eight organic cotton bibs for £9.59 (was £11.99) for the next couple of hours.

@lynzpynz would you mind if we added a link to your post, in case other users are interested?

AliceDMumsnet · 16/07/2018 17:30

You can get your hands on the same snazzy headphones as @sexnotgender here (they charge while you run - we're amazed.)

And, for five hours only, you can snap up this knitted mermaid tail blanket for just £12.79.

Morning everyone - we’re going to keep hunting down good deals today!

Thanks for your feedback @Butterfly1975. It's true that we can’t guarantee that every single product that Amazon promotes has been at its 'pre-Prime Day price' for more than 30 days, but we only pull out offers that seem to us like genuinely good deals on products we know MNers rate. But for belt and braces, the price-check sites that @Marmablade and others have suggested are brilliant for checking the price history of any prospective purchases - CamelCamelCamel is one that I really like.

Unfortunately, the FatFace discount was a "lightning deal" and only available for a few hours.

HannahGMumsnet · 17/07/2018 10:47

Morning all! Today there are some great deals on MNer favourite vaccuum cleaners including the Shark Cordless Pet Hair, which is now almost half price at £199.99 (was £379.99).

You can also get money off the Dyson CY26 Cinetic Big Ball Animal 2 Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner, which is now £237 (was £399.99)

And finally, over £100 off the Miele Cat and Dog, which is now £179.99 (was £290).

And, as always, remember to keep checking back today as we keep you posted on the best deals.

JustineMumsnet · 15/08/2018 12:07

Sorry for the delayed response to this thread - it's holiday time so a few balls dropped. We haven't got any special relationship with Amazon beyond a standard affiliate one (ie we get a teeny % of any purchase from a link on MN) that we have with lots of retailers and we didn't arrange anything special for Prime Day. It's clearly a day where lots of shopping is done (judging by the numbers) and we thought it would be helpful to highlight some best offers. Obviously it would also generate revenue for us too if MN users clicked on a lot of links and bought a lot of stuff. We tend to do this for Black Friday/ Cyber Monday too and generally it's been well received and many bargains have snapped up.

In general we try to make a buck via commercial activity that is at worst inoffensive and at best really useful for our users. Maybe Prime Day isn't as useful as we thought as perhaps the bargains aren't what they were - so that's interesting feedback - but our intention here was to kill two birds with one stone as it were. We actually made a total £567 in affiliate commission from the thread and Alice spent pretty much all day looking for bargains etc, so not really a great money-spinner all in all. Hope that clarifies a few things. Thanks as ever for the input.

@whatwoulddexterdo

It's clearly a joint marketing ploy with Amazon, clearly designed to dupe folks into thinking they are securing some really good secret bargains that no one else has access to. Mumsnet have been strangely silent , despite the fact that several have raised an objection to it. Mumsnet will you be posting a reminder to us good folks here to withdraw from prime before we are charged for it????? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for sharing a bargain, there's loads of good sales on at the moment. I think what's irked me the most is that it's Amazon. Oh and they don't need to do this to pay staff wages. I'm sure there other advertisements and collaborative partnerships such as Lidl paying this bill.

It's a shame , it's a really dumbing down. But it's just my honest opinion and as I stated earlier one of the reasons I don't use this site much now
