I love that the ranger is always from 5-17........and the number of people on MN who have 5 year olds who can do cursive writing, read Aristotle, and are confused when other say their child's favourite activity is still sneaky nose picking.......

InescapableDeath · 23/11/2020 23:38

It’s nearer than my son’s yr6 writing and a bit repetitive like my own yr five writing (recently found my old school books!). So maybe year 4-6. Wide range as kids vary so much.

Rae34 · 23/11/2020 23:39

I would say the child is between 9-12. Hats off to those of you that can actually read it.

Whatthebloodyell · 23/11/2020 23:40

6+? My 7 year olds looks like that If he makes an effort. It looks neat at first glance but is actually pretty hard to read.

KaptainKaveman · 23/11/2020 23:42

It's a list with no descriptive dimension to it at all. I don't know the author's age but it's not mature at all.
Are you going to tell us OP?

Bowerbird5 · 23/11/2020 23:42

I would say about nine. Is it a piece of writing following on from a story and they had to write the next part. It would explain certain vocabulary listed words that had to be included. Could be a first draft. Then the writer will need to consider how to improve it.
Might need some support in rewriting.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 23/11/2020 23:43

I can't read it because its too small to see on my phone, but going by the hand writing I think it could be any age over 8. Its quite similar in style to my grans writing but that's neater than my grans. I doubt many children write in cursive like that unless they have been specifically asked to.

itsadress · 23/11/2020 23:46

People think a 6 year older child would write that?

I know, like the people who think this do you realise you were once 6? Have you never seen your old books in the loft etc from primary school?

itsadress · 23/11/2020 23:49

If some people have 6 year olds that write like that then my 6 year old needs to seriously up his game!

My 7yo could concentrate & try very hard & wrote 1 or 2 words like this but a whole page, no way.

Ploki · 23/11/2020 23:49

The handwriting is beautiful. None of my kids can write like that. Also, the writer uses some good phrases in there. However it lacks coherence, and there are spelling mistakes on simple words so I'm confused!

About 9?

Cauterize · 24/11/2020 00:19

6?! Shock my son is nearly 6 and I think he has really neat writing for his age but it's nowhere near that!

I'd guess at 10 or 11

AnotherNameForChristmas · 24/11/2020 00:20

I can't read the content, which would probably give a better clue.
I'd say 12, give or take a few years, so somewhere between 10-14.
Very vague and unhelpful, I know!

Thisisneverending · 24/11/2020 00:25

It’s neater than mine, I’m 45 am I close?

GlassLake · 24/11/2020 00:27

They should be writing with fronted adverbials and conjunctions by year 3. I can't see any of those in this piece of writing.

YerAWizardHarry · 24/11/2020 00:40

I'm PMSL at the idea of it being a 6 year old. I'm currently teaching 5/6 year olds and they can't write sentences without serious support Hmm

I'd say its a 10/11 year old

Mumbum2011 · 24/11/2020 00:42

Year 6 child

berrygirlie · 24/11/2020 00:43

Ever coming back, @MrPickles73?

Emmelina · 24/11/2020 00:45

I’d place it around year 4 -8/9 years old.

pistolknight · 24/11/2020 00:46

There's 6/7 year olds in my daughters class that write like that not sure about the vocabulary though, there's also 6/7 year olds that write nothing like that with letters the wrong way round and random phonetic spellings - homework gets uploaded so everyone can view it. I suspect it's nearer to a 10 year old with the vocabulary

pergnet · 24/11/2020 01:49

Why would the OP come back to be pounced on by vipers eager to tell them their child isn't as bright as they thought?

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 24/11/2020 01:55

Yeah. I'd say 20, Year6, no way a 6 yo!!

Needs to work on flow rather than 'and then' 'and then'

Hope the 3 musketeers get to live together though😃

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 24/11/2020 01:55

Fat fingers '10' not 20 😁

berrygirlie · 24/11/2020 02:04

Dunno @pergnet, completion satisfaction? Self righteousness? General masochism?
