Dd (4) starts school in September and we're in the process of sorting uniform

We'd found some skorts at sainsburys and I'd needed to buy size 6 in them, to find that they've now been discontinued in the grey.

Normal skirts don't sit right on dd and always ride up. I've tried a pair of shorts from next, but there was no give in them and no elastic whatsoever and mil said she looked weird in them and not like a "proper little school girl".

I've spotted some culottes on Sainsburys that we'll try next, but if they don't fit, I'm not sure what to do to be honest.

We don't have a big enough tesco in our town, so it doesn't have the clothes department, but I don't mind driving to the next town along if needs be, if anyone knows what they have available?

To be honest, with regards to the playsuit, it's not something that I'd thought of. It still has the tag on, so I might take it back and choose her something else. Her teacher is male and she gets really nervous around new men, so I want to make things as easy as possible for her

The jersey trousers from tu or asda are brilliant - cheap, wash well and no ironing!

Next jersey school trousers are great and don't bobble and they do nice girls shorts also

Mine wore shorts or culottes most of the year, tights under shorts if it was cold. Although life was easiest when she went to a non uniform school, but that's another thread.

We've been so lucky and I spotted that Sainsburys have brought the skort she did like back into stock, so we've been able to grab enough of them for her.

For anyone else wanting similar, honestly the grey ones are soooo soft and comfy. I can't comment on wear, but fingers crossed they stand up to the active child that dd is
