Waiting for offers this week...

Anyone else waiting nervously for the school place offers on Thursday?

I know we aren't likely to get our first choice really, as we aren't in catchment and it's a very popular school. But until we find out I keep allowing myself to hope...

I know all our choices are fine, and I think we have a good chance of getting our second choice, but I am still feeling irrationally nervous about it all.

We got first choice. Yay. The email says that it's not an offer but an allocation and we don't need to accept the offer. Does that mean that there's nothing else I have to do to make it official? Like formally accept it online or anything?

I’ve got nothing on the portal yet and no email yet either. Agh it’s going to be a long day!!

I've seen a few "yay we got first choice" posts on Facebook from our council area but nothing on our portal (apparently anyway 🙄 DP did ours and I had to show him where to log in last night so I'm not convinced it's not there and he's now gone to work!) Is it in the messages section?

We just got an email, we didn't have to go in thre portal.
Our la says ug you're happy wuth your place you don't need to do anything.
We hit first place 😊

I thought you only got one offer

You should only get one offer from the LA. Offering two schools could cause the LA problems. For example, if you decide to take your second choice place, whoever is top of the waiting list for that school has a reasonable argument at appeal that you shouldn't have been given the choice and their child should have got the place that you've taken.

We've been offered a place but they won't tell us where

That's very poor.

First choice! I was up til 1 refreshing my email like a loser. DP all eye rolls telling me to be patient- he then woke up at 5 and asked me to check! It had come through at 1:15!

We got first place. So pleased (partly because it's the only primary that overs before and after school clubs) and the second and third choices were shocking in comparison!

Surprisingly we got our first choice. We really thought we had no chance at all and were happy with our other two choices. Can't believe it!

@prh47bridge The LA just phoned me and said initially the second choice was offered, then a place came up at first choice and in that circumstance I can choose as the second choice was offered first! Don't know how that happened as I looked as soon as it came online so a place can't have been turned down. Oh well, I'm sticking with first choice and hopefully someone will be happy I'm turning down second choice.

We got our first choice for both of them!!!!!!! Woohooooooo. All the schools were good but this was the only one that really suited both twins needs, the other two were great for one but not the other as much.

I completely forgot this was happening until I got the email this morning Blush DD’s been offered a place at DS’ school so I’m happy.

I thought we were getting the offers from 4pm not BY 4pm lol. DP just ran up the stairs to tell me we got out first choice, yay!
