Waiting for offers this week...

Anyone else waiting nervously for the school place offers on Thursday?

I know we aren't likely to get our first choice really, as we aren't in catchment and it's a very popular school. But until we find out I keep allowing myself to hope...

I know all our choices are fine, and I think we have a good chance of getting our second choice, but I am still feeling irrationally nervous about it all.

I know its terrifying but please dont panic if it doesnt pan out as you hope. There are pros and cons to EVERY school. Try and focus on the pros of whatever happens. We didnt get 1st choice with dc1, second choice turned out to be so much better for her, we now have to move again for reasons not in our control and having thought a small school was best for Dc2 with ASD we have found we now have to go to a much bigger school but the SENCO is amazing and there will be opportunities for a more diverse friendship group as he struggles with the social constraints of a small circle of friends. We could never have planned for or foreseen any of this but there is usually a way to make things work out. Good luck.

Anxiously waiting here, and I don't know what time the places are put online, the portal just says 16th. Hoping to get an out of catchment sibling place but not very likely unfortunately.

Good luck everyone! I think it will be in the evening for us... I’m pretty sure a large part of the reason for having it in the evening is so that you don’t ring up the council immediately after finding out. Better to have a sleep first 😊

Luckily I'm working a night shift tonight...keep clock watching...hoping to get my youngest into same school as my older 2 but we are out of catchment and loads have applied

I waiting for a text from DD’s dad as he did the application. I wish I would have done it as can’t shake the feeling that he didn’t submit it or something

Stayed up for midnight just in case but nothing on eadmissions. I think it'll be a long wait for the evening now! Not sure I'll be able to sleep.

Have promised DS that we will scoot over to whatever school he gets in to on Friday, he's really excited.

Parents last year could get theres from 12am but nothing here atm...

I'm probably going to be checking every hour and not getting much sleep

They have just gone up for our council. Thankfully my DD got our first choice. Very small admission area. She has siblings in year 1 and year 2 so would have been a nightmare if she didn't get in.

Got first choice! Amazing, really wasn't expecting that. It also says second choice have offered a place too, but no offer from third choice which is the catchment school. I thought you only got one offer.

We got second choice. I feel a tiny bit deflated, BUT when we looked around the second choice we were genuinely torn as to whether to put it first or not. The only reasons we didn't was a) it's a CofE school, first choice was secular and b) distance from our house made me nervous about getting DC2 in when the time comes.
Other than that I left the school feeling very good about it, and it is a more practical choice in some sense, as it has much better wraparound care than first choice.
Definitely better for us than either of our 3rd or 4th school.
