Interpreting KS2 Sats

Just got DD's KS2 Sats results, this is the first time I've dealt with these so unsure what they mean. It says she has achieved standard which is good but can anyone shed any light on the scores? She got 109 in English Grammar, 118 in reading and 110 in maths.

@Curlyshabtree well done to your DD. Those are fabulous results and she must have worked hard to achieve them. There is nothing wrong with being proud of a child who has done well and wants to shout about it.

Time to chill out now and enjoy the summer before high school kicks in.

@Curlyshabtree - Well done to your dd, those results are fantastic, she should be very proud of herself.

@Curlyshabtree well done to your DD for working so hard and achieving so well.
I can totally relate as we also live in a deprived area (ex Council house). DD not PP, but her school has 60% PP and high SEN.
Due to her wonderful teachers' and her own hard work she achieved 120 in all her SAT's and GD in writing. I know they're not a big deal but I'm so proud of her!
There's a very long way to go yet, but this has given me hope that she might be the first from both sides of her family to access higher education. x

Curlyshabtree,

"I know they don’t mean much in the long term"

It's not true. Especially the reading paper was very hard, so getting such a high score, and getting 100 % in maths is very special. She has a bright future.

My son is normal kid. This year he got 100% in maths, 120 SPAG( not 100%) and 118 in reading. After SAT he said maths was not hard and got 10 minutes to check. 2 of his friend got 15 minutes spare but did not get 100%. I don’t think SAT is important as my daughter got almost same scores but she just does OK in secondary now. My son goes a good school in Enfield.
