It must be soon, right? Is there a specific timeframe in which schools have to do it?

Thanks.

Confused

So he read letter names rather than sounds?

Dungandbother · 20/06/2016 18:30

Yes but they are an acronym - a very obvious one.

He could be making this up! On the day he had his check last week, he told me one of the alien words was xxx (3 letters) and then immediately he asked me what RIP means.

Exchange the first letter for another and he read it as an acronym not an alien word.

mrz · 20/06/2016 18:44

Oh dear!

Dungandbother · 20/06/2016 19:01

Oh I'm sure he did it perfectly deliberately.

He's another one to inform me he got them all right. HmmShock
I'll try to remember to come back when his report comes out in July to unearth the truth.

Dungandbother · 20/06/2016 19:04

He didn't just say the letter sounds. He said the whole thing.
As in, he said "Rest in Peace" but the other acronym for the word in the actual test.

This is where I can be sure he isn't making it up. I don't even know if this was in the test and as I'm not actually typing the word here, it's got very confusing. Grin

Oops.

Although if that's the case you would have thought the test developers could have forseen that slightly.

mrz · 20/06/2016 20:20

There is one that is an initialism but not related to your description.

Did he read the word or just say what he thought it stood for? Was the task explained to him before hand?

Dungandbother · 20/06/2016 21:09

He understood perfectly the test and the requirements. He's a strong reader.

He's reading the Twits and so this could be his idea of a trick, the story he's told me seems plausible but I confess he's excellent at making stuff up.

I'd ask his teacher but it's a busy week.

It's hard to talk about this when you can't talk about it Grin
