He's just posted that the KS1 test sample on the gov website is the actual test they are using?!

I don't know if it's true - only the sample schools can say.

If it is true, it's too late to do anything about it, they sat in all the other schools' locked cupboards, to be opened on their chosen test day in May.

I can't quite get my head around this level of incompetence, if it is true, even for the dfe it's quite staggering. Shock

mangocoveredlamb · 20/04/2016 19:22

Well that's one way of showing the new tests are working. Ensure that all the students have been taught to the ACTUAL test...

KnotNora · 20/04/2016 19:26

Looks like it is true 😮

Are the KS2 ones the same? DS1 sat exactly the same SPAG test that is online...

Hulababy · 20/04/2016 19:32

Its just the GPPS (SPaG) one so far I think.
Others (from sample schools?) say Maths is different at least.

Hulababy · 20/04/2016 19:32

GPS - not GPPS

jennielou75 · 20/04/2016 19:37

Someone has posted on facebook to say their spag test was different to the sample.

Wellthen · 20/04/2016 19:37

Ks2 haven't sat any tests yet.
I'm not sure the ks1 tests have arrived in schools yet but it certainly would be true that all schools have to have the same tests.

I think he might be confusing 'real' sample materials and the actual tests due to be sat in may.

ihearttc · 20/04/2016 19:41

They have...well my son has. They did a Mock SATs a month ago with the exact same SPAG paper thats online at the moment. I know because I printed it out for him and went through it.

jennielou75 · 20/04/2016 19:43

Some KS1 schools were selected to sit the papers early so have opened them although they are not supposed to talk about them at all. I am guessing someone is either mistaken or having a wind up.

Hulababy · 20/04/2016 19:43

Some schools have got their KS1 SATs papers and they are in schools, but sealed ready to use in May.

Some schools have ben selected to do them early - part of the benchmark setting I think, and to fix any assessment issues. They are doing them now I believe.

HopeClearwater · 20/04/2016 19:44

Huh! How long do you think those tests are going to stay sealed!

KnotNora · 20/04/2016 19:44

Yes the schools who are doing the benchmark tests are saying the Spag is the same as the sample test available online. They are sitting the benchmark so the Dfe have said all kids will sit that test (or the benchmark would be useless?!)

KnotNora · 20/04/2016 19:45

Just to reiterate its KS1 Spag. Although rumours that KS2 Spag is also the same as the sample.

It's the bloody SPAG test thats keeping my previously confident and able 11 year old up most nights so will be extremely grateful if it is that one...I highly doubt it though.

jennielou75 · 20/04/2016 19:49

Someone on facebook did the ks1 spag test early and has said that it is different to the sample.

mrz · 20/04/2016 20:28

If it's true (and I'm very sceptical) it really doesn't matter as KS1 test results aren't reported but will leave done very red faces at DfE.

mrz · 20/04/2016 20:32

HopeCkearwater if a moderator arrives in school and the papers aren't sealed and locked away in a secure room the head will be dismissed and the results void.
Half of schools may be moderated this year so I wonder his many heads are stupid enough to take the risk!

KnotNora · 20/04/2016 20:42

I didn't know that re tests being locked away! Bet some parents would love to get in there!

Do they send an exact amount of papers for registered pupils?

OP posts:
Feenie · 20/04/2016 20:49

They sent us a spare pack of 10 for each subject, in case of late additions.

Feenie · 20/04/2016 21:12

Oh dear! So they accidentally uploaded it?

KnotNora · 20/04/2016 21:13

What an utter cock up.

Someone will be down the sole queue tomorrow.
