Positive test 3 weeks after medical abortion

Hi everyone 💗 I had a medical termination at home 3 weeks ago. I took the pregnancy test that was provided to me by the clinic and it came out positive (faint line). I then took 2 normal tests and they came out positive too (picture attached). I did bleed a lot and passed a few clots, still spotting on and off even now.

I’m so scared that the abortion hasn’t worked, I contacted BPAS, who subsequently just told me to retest again in a weeks time. Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated 💗

I’m terrified, also how old are you? And are you having any discharge or bleeding you can keep in touch on here so we can give eachother updates? xxx

I’m 37! No I don’t have any discharge or bleeding now. It stopped about a week ago! Have you done the low sensitivity test? This was mine when I done it on Friday! It’ll be 4 weeks tomorrow, I was also pregnant with twins. The shop tests can remain positive for a while as they detect lower levels of hcg.

@Greenapples26 my low sensitivity one I will show a picture but the shop ones are quite strong I am so worried honestly feel sick

@Supportgirlxxx that’s good! You’ll be fine, it will just be lingering hormones. Let me know how the phone call goes tomorrow.

@Greenapples26 i could see a very faint line on it tho & the shop ones are definitely positive 😩 and im having brown discharge and low back pain and yes will do and you xx

@Supportgirlxxxhow many weeks were you when you took the tablets? Hopefully it has all worked out for you, the clinic will be able to advise and I think if needed can provided further tablets to help empty!

This is the problem I really do not want to take further tablets or medication I thought this was all behind me .. 😒 I was 6 weeks 2 days

I was also 6 weeks at the time, are situation sounds pretty similar! X

@Greenapples26 have you had a period since? I rang msi which they can’t see me because they’re full they’re sending me one of their tests in the post to to do

@Supportgirlxxx no I haven’t yet because I started taking contraception! Hopefully the next test you do from MSI will be negative.

@Supportgirlxxx I spoke with the clinic today and they are also sending me another test to do 🙏🏼 feeling really worried about it now ☹️

@Greenapples26 Just feeling anxious tbh. Got abit of back ache (lower) and brown discharge is still their 😩

😔 I feel anxious too! I think the discharge can be normal as long as you don’t have pain. You’ve had a scan since taking the pills haven’t you? I’m sure it is all ok. 💗

@Greenapples26 ive started bleeding red heavy blood today following the brown discharge. Worried is not even the word right now
