Can anyone recommemd any? I've not get a very big bump yet (19weeks) but my normal jeans don't fit, have some over bump ones from Next that fall down and some from Moto that have elastic bits at side but still constantly fall down.

Are any of you wearing really compy keepyuppy ones?
Many Thanks X

The over-bump ones are best at staying up, but maternity sizes are always massive so get some in a smaller size. New look are quite good

From what I remember, feels like ages ago....

Congrats and enjoy your bump!

I'm currently wearing M&S maternity jeans but they are starting to fall down now and I'm 26 weeks. That may have something to do with me hardly gaining weight because I've got a toddler to chase around the house most of the time! The jeans were fitting me well to begin with but starting to slacken. Moral: don't buy mat jeans out of M&S.

butterscotch · 05/04/2010 16:38

I've both over the bump and the side bits and foudn they still fall down despite buying a smaller size! I found wearing a bump band helps keep my dignity best ;0) you can get a pack of 3 in New look for £10! Great investment!

This is one thing that really pissed me off! (That and maternity tights)

I bought 4 pairs of jeans/trousers on a really good sale in Gap when I was in the States - a mixture of over the bump and elastic waistband. I bought them in my normal size, and NONE of them stay up, even now that I'm at 32 weeks! If I was buying again, I'd buy them in a size or even two smaller, because the elastic stretches as well. (Think very fitted on the bum) I wore cheap jeans in a size bigger than usual until about 22 weeks instead, and then got an extender that gave an extra 2cm, which was enough until recently.

But I bought a pair of jeggings in Topshop a couple of weeks ago as all maternity tights seem to be as crap as the jeans... and they're perfect. They're the same as normal jeggings but with a wider elasticated waistband, so it sits very low on the bump. I've had no problems with them falling down at all and wear them a lot.

PS I got 2 bump bands from Topshop as everyone was raving about them, but although I got the small and I'm a 10-12 in non-pregnancy, they're still too big and I've never worn them. It's also quite a thick material, and I find my bump the warmest part of me so the one day I tried one on in the house for a while, it made my bump itchy. As you'll be bigger during the summer, you might find them sweltering.

I had a massive bump with my last pregnancy, so neither under/over the bump jens worked. I resorted to buying a pair of braces and wore them under my tops so nobody knew I was wearing them. Worked a treat.

Trillian42 · 05/04/2010 18:26

Lol at 5inthebed! My husband said he'd try to find me a pair but couldn't - where did you get them?

nomorecake · 05/04/2010 18:32

i had that exact conversation with dh this morning.
i said that i need maternity braces, if they exist, or even everday braces. dh said that he didnt think you could still buy them.
i NEED them!

lovechoc · 05/04/2010 18:33

think I may invest in bumpbands because I often have a classic 'builder's bum' in these mat jeans I'm wearing - the elastic at the sides type.

wickedfairy · 05/04/2010 18:35

I got over the bump jeans from next in a size smaller than I am. After wearing them for about 5 mins, they were constantly falling down and the thighs seemed to give by about 2 inches. Didn't get any better as my bump size increased either.

Got pissed off with them last week and bunged them in the washer on a 50 degree wash (32 minute cycle) to see if they would shrink. Dark jeans, they didn't lose their colour....

Put them on today and they are smaller (in width, doesn't seem to have shrunk the length). They fitted nicely - fully expected them to give loads during today but they are totally fine and fit well now! Am pleased!!

5inthebed · 05/04/2010 18:54

I bought them from a suit shop, the sort that does old mens attire.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 05/04/2010 19:03

You'll just need to buy dungarees! I had exactly the same problem and found that all maternity jeans gradually work their way down as you walk, or catastrophically flash your arse when you sit

Bettymum · 05/04/2010 19:05

I have spent most of my pregnancy cursing every pair of maternity jeans I've owned or borrowed (I'm 39+5 on second pregnancy). I have one great pair of Vertbaudet over the bump ones - they were perfect till about 30 weeks and then they get too small. I have size 8 New Look under bump ones that never stay up no matter how big or small I am, size 8 Next ones that now fall down as the bump elastic bit is too tight, and some size 10 ones of various brands that I've borrowed which fall down as I'm a size 8, not 10 .
So I give up on maternity jeans. Try leggings, cords or combats instead. I think the problem may be the denim is so heavy it just pulls everything down . Can't wait to get back into normal jeans!

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 05/04/2010 19:08

I found some really good ones from blooming marvellous. They were over the bump jeans and they fitted perfectly, very comfy. If you link from here you can get a discount too.

boogeek · 05/04/2010 19:09

Another one who wore braces under my top! I got them in a department store (who tried to giftwrap them as clearly they couldn't be for me )
And dungarees if you know you won't have to leave the house.

Rosa · 05/04/2010 19:11

I was going to say M&S over the bump ones a size smaller than you are but Lovechoc disagrees...
Ifound Next naff and vertbaudet the expanding roll up cargos crap.

Grandhighpoohba · 05/04/2010 19:15

Debenhams sell braces!

Bigmouthstrikesagain · 05/04/2010 19:17

do not exist - dungarees work

seashore · 05/04/2010 19:21

I agree they do not exist, I spent both pregnancies pulling up my jeans, it's really annoying.

yama · 05/04/2010 19:25

I wear normal jeans and instead of zipping them up (no chance) I fold them in and wear a longish top.

Mind you I find dresses so much comfier.

hazeyjane · 05/04/2010 19:30

Another one here that wears braces under tops (much to the amusement of MW). Unfortunately they are a rainbow pair from my youth, and despite this being my 3rd pregnancy, I still haven't got round to buying any better ones!.

There are things called 'Belly ups' on ebay, that attatch to your bra and jeans, that look quite good, and cost about £9.

beanlet · 05/04/2010 20:23

Dresses with Spanx and hold-up tights!

I have a pair of Gap under the bump jeans and a pair of their over the bump jeans, and the latter definitely win. You need to wash them a lot to make the stretchy fabric spring back to the original size, but I've found them pretty good so far (I'm 27+2).

I also have a totally fabulous pair of Sweaty Betty yoga pants with roll-down top -- if you roll the top up it covers the bump perfectly. So comfy, and stays up just fine.

My issue is with my stretchy pregnancy tops that ride up at the back and expose the stretchy bit of the jeans -- so ugly!

Rosebud05 · 05/04/2010 20:35

Try a belt. Really, it works, at least in the elastic side ones IME.

butterscotch · 05/04/2010 20:36

Trillian42For tights the best I found were Mamas and Papas! They do some funky colours not that I've worn any since giving up work!

For normal work trousers I found next fine but jeans crap!

beanlet for the stretch bit cover up bump bands are great for this as well! The three pack in New Look you get one black, one white and one nude colour! They have been a godsend!

I'm more difficult for jeans/trousers as I have a 34inch inside leg so next is pretty much the only place that does them long enough everywhere else I look like my ankles have argued with the bottom of my trousers ;eblush;

vickyob · 05/04/2010 20:47

for your problem, I was a size 8 before and Ive jyust had to buy a pair of size 14 mat jeans. Im only 25 weeks although they were nearlt 10lbs each.
This is preg no 4 and Ive always love H&M Mat jeans. They have over and under bump jeans but do come up small so if your bump isnt big get your reg size. Try Ebay they are £30 ish in the shop but Ive just bought a pair fo £10 inc p&p. A word of warning a lot of people list them in the US size a US 8 is a UK12 Or in a S,M, L the S would be a uk 8-10.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 05/04/2010 20:50

With regards maternity jeans, I am nearing the end of my 4th and final pregnancy and have NEVER found a brand/make/style that doesn't fall down.

Best item ever was dungarees as they physically couldn't fall down.

M&P under bump jeans were horrific and actually came down, exposing my knickers in the street about 2 months ago!!
